The 2015 Private Club League Meet was held at the Clearwater Long Center.  This year Palma Ceia Country Club moved the championship meet back indoors to prevent any cancelations to the final sessions.

The Palma Ceia Country Club families did amazing job putting together this year's championship meet!  It was very exciting to see all the final swimmers walk out to music before the championship heat swam. We saw many great swims including some historic records that were broken.  At the end of the meet we had 12 records (8 individual records and 4 relay records) that were broken.

The fourth record of the meet went back to the 11-12 boys 50 back where Scott Showalter breaks Eric Moore 2004 record in prelims.  In the finals Kory Kimura from Countryside out touched Showalter to become the new 11-12 50 back recorder holder with a time of 28.75.

The first relay to be broken was the 13-14 girls 200 Free (1:45.16) with Countryside (Delp, Vasilakos, Walkup, Osborne) breaking Tampa Yacht's 2009 record. This concluded all the records for the Saturday sessions.

Sunday morning Scott Showalter shows up to break one of the oldest records Doug Soltis - 40 year old record in the 11-12 50 breaststroke. Scott broke it by a tenth of a second going 32.20 in prelims.  He returned for finals improving his new 11-12 50 breaststroke record to 32.19.

In the 13-14 girls age group we had Caroline Rossi (Palma Ceia Country Club) break the 13-14 100 breaststroke record previously held by Lauren Hall from 2009 with a time of 1:08.61.

We hope everyone had a great PCL Meet and hope to see everyone back next year at the Clearwater Long Center (June 11-12).

Thanks again to the PCCC parents and coaches for doing a great job of hosting the 2015 PCL Champ Meet.  We also would like to thank all the officials especially Frank Swigon for being a great meet referee and putting together a great team of officials!
