February Swimmers of the Month

February Swimmers of the Month

These swimmers were chosen by our coaching staff on the basis of their attendance, attitude, effort and performance in the month of December.  Congratulations, everyone!

Hannah Kim is the Bronze Swimmer of the Month. Hannah had a breakout meet to start the month off and has continued to break out as the month has gone on. She has also stepped up in practice with the her new found confidence and attitude. She found out how much fun it is to swim fast.

Quinn Ayres is the Silver Swimmer of the Month. Quinn has had a great month of training, racing and learning new things. Besides looking good in the water she has found out that she can push herself to go fast. Sometimes you just have to discover your "fastness".

Cameron St. Clair is the Gold Swimmer of the Month. Cameron began 2016 with a renewed focus on his goals and with perfect attendance, has been working every day to reach them. As a seasoned LY swimmer, Cameron knows that his best stroke and events might change as he gets older, stronger and his technique improves. Cameron now has his sights set on a best time in the 200 back and the 500 free- both challenging events. In addition to working on those events, Cameron has also been working on his butterfly and breaststroke to help improve his IM performance. Congratulations, Cameron! We’re looking forward to a fun and successful championship season!

Daniel Murray is the Varsity Swimmer of the Month. Daniel has improved throughout the entire season. His near perfect attendance every month plus his hard work have paid off. Since September, Daniel has moved up a lane (and interval!) in practice, and he has dropped time in every competition over the past five months. In January Daniel posted seven best times at our Winter Invitational including an astounding 81 second time drop in the 1000 free.  Daniel is quick to congratulate a lanemate on a job well done in practice, and his determined attitude helps push fellow Varsity swimmers through tough sets.  Thanks for being a positive addition to the Varsity group, and congratulations, Daniel!

Kelsey Childress is the National group Swimmer of the Monthh. Kelsey has been a very consistent practice performer this month and is continually elevating her skills.  A positive, energetic influence on her teammates, she is making an impact on a daily basis.  Her efforts paid off with a few outstanding swims at the Poseidon Jumpin' January meet where she improved by nearly 2 seconds in the 200 fly, an event that she has made significant progress in lately.  Keep up the good work, Kelsey!
