As the season begins to wind down the Championship Meets pick up!
Julia Goh competed on Sunday, March 5th at Wheaton College where she had qualified to swim the 10 & Under 50 yard Breaststroke. Qualifying for a meet of this caliber is always exciting and Julia traveled to Wheaton College along with Coach Brogan Barr where she bested her previous time and touched the wall with a time of 42.21! As she is still looking forward to the Silver Championship meet at UVAC on March 18th, she came away with an amazing experience at Age Groups and a great way to begin to wrap up the 2016-2017 short course season!
Competing the same weekend were Isaac Boyd and Cole Kuster. The boys, alongside coaches Dave Dow and Steve Kuster, competed at WPI in Worcester, MA. Isaac had an awesome weekend while competing in the 100 yard Backstroke, 100 yard Breaststroke, 200 yard Backstroke, and 200 yard Breaststroke. Isaac qualified during the prelims of this meet to swim in the evening heats of the 100 yard and 200 yard Breaststroke placing 28th and 29th respectively. Coach Dave Dow stated that, "Isaac swam extremely well at Age Groups and really worked on all of the finer points that we have been focusing on recently in practice. It was exciting to watch him compete and make it back for finals in the evening!"
Cole Kuster had an equally exciting weekend as he qualified to swim the 200 yard Freestyle, 1000 yard Freestyle, 500 yard Freestyle, and 1650 yard Freestyle. Cole swam to an amazing finish in the 1000 yard Freestyle with a time of 9:24.62 finishing 2nd and dropping nearly 13 seconds from his previous time. Cole also had great success in the 500 yard Freestyle where he qualified for finals and finished 4th. He wrapped up a long and awesome weekend by swimming the 1650 yard Freestyle where he placed 3rd with a time of 16:01.89.
Congratulations to Julia, Isaac and Cole for such an amazing weekend!
