This past weekend, May 19th & 21st, our Tsunami swimmer, TC Smith traveled to California to compete at the USA Open Water Nationals in both the 10K and 5K races. In the 10K he finished 3rd among eligible swimmers 18 years and younger qualifying him for the National Junior Team. He will probably be able to represent the USA at the Junior World Open Water Championships this coming October to be held in Hong Kong. TC swam the 10,000 meter race in 2 hours, 7 min.
In his 5k swim he finished 21st overall with all entrants, 5th among 18 and younger. The difference between his final time of 58 min., 6 sec. was just 41 seconds behind the winner of this event. If you break that down to a 1 minute swim, such as a 100m swim, this would make the difference of winning down to approximately .8 of a second. Very close race.
WAY TO GO TC!!!!!
