Congratulations to MAC – 2017 LC “B” Team Champions! Echoing MAC’s Team win in February at SCM Central “B” Champs, this accomplishment was achieved by a thorough club performance – from all age categories and all groups. Our team performances included very strong swimming in the relay events. The coaches were very pleased with the commitment and enthusiasm for relay swimming – that is what team performances are all about! We are very excited for continued Championship swimming later this month! Well done swimmers!
Congratulation to Elizabeth Yeung for winning the High Point Award for Girls 16 & Over.
Discovery – Coach Cathy Salvo
Congratulations to those swimmers that represented Discovery Group at the Central B Swim meet this past weekend. Once again, Discovery swimmers raced to their potential, posting best times in their events. Swimmers are beginning to understand the effort needed in practice to transfer into a meet like Central B Champs. All Discovery swimmers have continued to work well in practice bringing all components of each stroke together from the start execution to the effort as which they race and right done to the finish. I look forward to having more swimmers represent Discovery next season. Congratulation once again to the following Discovery Swimmers:
- Elena Ene
- Sarah Gao
- Michael Chester
- Adaora Opara
- Kaitlyn Chu
Go MAC Go!!!

AGP2 – Coach Jim Snow
AGP2 had 16 qualifiers for this past weekend’s “Central Region B Champs”. We brought home 33 best times including 11 top Ten finishes. Highlighting the meet was Daniella Salvo winning Gold in the 100 Breast and qualifying for Easterns and Age Group Provincials with a great time of 1:21.48. Natalie Stokes also won Gold in the 100 Back with a time of 1:15.73 almost another full second off her best and just missing Festivals. Ethan Chan, Michael Gilbert, Justin Mendiola, Ian Ngai, Logan Tran were all best time machines! Some recent improvements in stroke technique helped Chloe (100 Free), Louie (100 Free) and Ryan Lee (200 Back).
AGP1 – Coach Glen Steacy
AGP1 had 21 swimmers represent the group this past weekend, and we had the advantage of holding the meet in our home pool. This helped us in getting the appropriate rest between sessions and race days. We had a good number of best times over the weekend with many swimmers qualifying for second swims and top 10 finishes. Once again, we played our part in helping MAC secure another Centrals B Champs win. Congratulations to everyone!
Medal winners were as follows: Faith Caswell (Silver 400m IM, Bronze 200m IM), Edward Cheung (Silver 1500m Fr), Naomi Chiang (Gold 800m Fr & 100m Fr, Silver 200m Fr, Bronze 50m Fr), Jing Wen Hui (Gold 800m Fr), Alex Kan (Bronze 100m Br), Chiok Sze Yeo (Bronze 400m IM, 800m Fr).
We continue to work together in our training group and look forward to Centrals C this coming weekend, and Festivals the following weekend, to help each other be the best possible competitor right up until the end of the competitive and championship season for 2016-2017!
GO MAC GO!
Senior Development – Coach Kent Aitchison
Centrals “B” Championships was a great meet to get things going in Championship Season. I’ve always like getting weekend swimming going with 200 IM and 400 FR on the Friday night. That session set up the meet very well. Lifetime bests were littered throughout the weekend. For some, this was the last meet of the season and a few swimmers did a great job swimming with an obvious layer of inspiration.

Well done on racing hard in every session. SC played a big role in some exciting relays swims. Congratulations to Liz for winning High Point – Payton was close behind in the same category and missed tying by 1 point! SC put a good team effort in and made major contributions to the medal table. Good job and thank you for your leadership!
