MAC sent 25 swimmers to Ontario Summer Festivals on the weekend, being held at the Markham Pan Am pool.  The swimmers did a good job of performing in multiple events in each session, including relays for each age category.  The club got stronger throughout the weekend, and ended up in 4th place for combined points overall.  Congratulations to everyone who help contribute to our success at this meet!

Junior A & B – Coach Richard Tse

Junior A/B sent two swimmers to Summer Festivals at our home pool in Markham Pan Am.  Sydney Burnett and Amber Chen did an amazing job at this meet and raced their best in their final meet of the season!

Amber Chen was part of the 11 and under girls relays which won 2 gold medals in the 200 Medley/ Fr relays and 2 silver medals in the 400 Medley/Fr relays.  Amber also placed 5th in the 100 Br and 6th in the 200 Br.

Sydney Burnett had a huge drop in her 800 Fr dropping a whopping 26 seconds from her best.

All in all, it was a great meet with fast swimming!  Way to cap off the end of the season!

AGP2 – Coach Jim Snow

Well, wasn’t that a fun final weekend of Fast and Furious short course swimming at Ontario Festivals. A great reminder of “wall speed” and turn speed!

We hit our taper big time! 14 Swims. 12 Best Times. Book that one under E for excellent for AGP2!

Skyyler his 1:10.1 and 23.2 for the sprint freestyles….Nice work and great starts and turns. Great reaction time!

Chloe was perfect. She hit all best times in the 100 Fly (1:14.69), 100 Free (both individual 1:06.89 and 4X100 Free Leadoff 1:06.04), 50 Free (first time under 30 going 29.47 and then going faster on the 4X50 Free relay 29.32 as leadoff).

Natalie brought home some great backstroke swims going 1:13.13, hitting the 13 year old Festival time and a 14 year old Festival time for 200 Back going 2:34.47.

Daniella is getting sharp for this weekend’s breast events, but in the meantime, did some Short Course best times with a 1:24.47 and 3:04.51, and while unofficial, hit 31.2 for the cleanup spot in the 4X50 Free Relay.

Geez that was fun. Always best to stand up and swim your fastest in your Championship meet!

Congratulations to all!

AGP1 – Coach Glen Steacy

The AGP1 group had 11 swimmers competing over the weekend at Summer Festivals held at our home, the Markham Pan Am Pool.  This was a large focus for many in the group, as it is the culmination of the year of training and hard work.  The group stayed tough mentally throughout the weekend and continued to compete in every swim.  Congratulations to Chiok Sze Yeo who set a club record in the 50m Free, with a time of 27.58s.

Congratulations to the following individual medal winners: Faith Caswell (Gold 200m, 400m IM), Naomi Chiang (Gold 100m Bk, Bronze 200m Bk), Emma Gao (Silver 50m Fr, Bronze 100m, 200m Fr), Chiok Sze Yeo (Silver 50m, 100m Fr, 100m Fl), Charles Zhang (Gold 100m, 200m Bk).  Some of our Festivals swimmers will continue on to race at Ontario Age Group Champs, and Ontario AA Champs being held this coming weekend at the Toronto Pan Am pool.  Good luck to those competing later this week!
