KINGFISH 12 & UNDER SWIMMERS FINISH 10th AT STATE MEET

KINGFISH 12 & UNDER SWIMMERS FINISH 10th AT STATE MEET

Represented by ONLY five swimmers, Kingfish Aquatics of Waterford finished 10th overall at the Michigan Swimming 12 & Under Long Course State Meet with 273 points.  The five Kingfish swimmers are Patrick Barna (12), Lila Glenn (9), Kevin Jia (12), Matthew Jia (12) and Colin Zexter (11).

Kevin Jia led the team, scoring 101 points total.  Day 1, Kevin swam an impressive 5:19.40 to earn State Champion honors in the 400 meter IM.  He also finished 2nd in the 200 IM and 200 fly, 3rd in the 100 back and 400 free and 4th in the 50 back.

Matthew Jia also delivered big-time points, scoring a total of 89 for Team KAW.  Matthew closed out the meet with a State Champion title in the 1500 meter freestyle—clocking a time of 18:28.92!  In addition, he placed 4th in the 400 IM and 200 IM, 5th in the 200 fly, 6th in the 200 free and 7th in the 200 back.

Patrick Barna added 14 points to the KAW total – finishing 12th in the 400 IM, 14th in the 200 and 100 breaststrokes and 15th in the 50 breaststroke.

Colin Zexter wrapped up individual points scored with 5 total.  He finished 15th in the 200 and 100 breaststrokes and 16th in the 50 fly.

The relay team of Patrick Barna, Kevin Jia, Matthew Jia and Colin Zexter also finished 3rd in both the 400 free and medley relays!
