EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE BY TEAM KAW AT SUMMER SECTIONALS MEET

Eleven swimmers represented Kingfish Aquatics of Waterford at the 2017 Speedo Summer Sectionals held in Columbus, Ohio (Ohio State University).  Swimmers who have achieved qualifying Sectionals times AND participated in the meet are Ashleigh Allen (17), Maria Arakelian (15), Isabel Fairbanks (17), Ella Glaspie (13), Emma Hazel (17), Dillon Hong (16), Patrick Olmsted (18), Drew Panzl (16), Sarah Puscas (15), Zane Rosely (14) and Kaylee Williams (14).

Kaylee Williams was the top point scorer for Team KAW with 76 total points.  With a personal best swim of 4:22.31, Kaylee finished 3rd in the 400 freestyle -- just missing the 2017 Speedo Summer Junior National Cut (4.:22.19)!  Incredible swim and effort!  Kaylee also had top finishes in the 800 freestyle (5th), 1500 freestyle (6th) and 200 freestyle (9th).

Emma Hazel also swam an outstanding meet, capturing 30 total points for Kingfish.  Emma's 200 back time (2:18.16) placed her 7th in the event results AND qualified her for the 2017 Speedo Summer Junior National Meet to be held August 2 - 6 in Long Island, NY.  Additionally, Emma placed 11th in the 400 IM and achieved her goal of breaking the 5-minute barrier with a time of 4:59.77 (also a bonus cut for Summer Junior's).

Several swimmers realized personal best swims while at Sectionals -- including a second swim in the evening finals!  This is quite an accomplishment at this level of swimming.  Please join us in congratulating all those swimmers that did an excellent job representing Team KAW.  GO KINGFISH!
