KINGFISH BOYS SHINE AT 2017 14 & UNDER CENTRAL ZONE CHAMPIONSHIP

Four KAW boys traveled to Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin to represent Team Michigan at the 2017 14 & Under Central Zone Championship on August 3 - 6th.  These swimmers are Kevin Jia (12), Matthew Jia (12), Zane Rosely (14) and Josh Zexter (14).  Six teams were represented at the Central Zone Championship -- Team Michigan finished 2nd overall with 4,201 points.

From Team KAW, Zane Rosely was the leading point scorer with 87 total points.  Zane CRUSHED the 200 Fly earning a Zone champion title AND a Central Zone record with a time of 2:08.66!!!  In addition, Zane also had top finishes in the 400 Free (2nd), 100 Fly (3rd), 400 IM (5th), 50 Fly (8th) and 200 Back (9th).  Zane also raced in the 400 Free Relay (3rd), 200 Medley Relay (6th) and 400 Medley Relay (7th).  Congratulations Zane!

Kevin Jia generated 57 points for Team Michigan by showcasing his distance swimming skills with top 8 finishes in the 1500 Free (3rd), 800 Free (4th), 200 Fly (5th) and 400 IM (7th).

Matthew Jia also delivered 39 points to support Team Michigan.  Also a "distance swim master", Matthew scored in the 1500 Free (4th), 200 Fly (8th), 400 IM (10th) and 800 Free (11th).  Matthew also swam in the 400 Free Relay which finished 8th overall.

Josh Zexter rounded out the KAW swimmers representing Team Michigan with 19.5 points scored.  Josh had top finishes in the 200 Fly (7th), 100 Fly (12th) and 50 Fly (14th).
