Coaches Ramirez, Babits and Caloian join MSSAC Coaching Staff

Roman Ramirez, former Head Coach of South Western Aquatics has accepted a coaching position with MSSAC.  Roman is a highly qualified and experienced coach.  His most recent success is developing 2016 Olympian Evan Van Moerkerke.  Roman’s wife Ara has been coaching with the club for 1 year already and attracting Roman into the coaching team insures we have quality experienced coaching throughout our program for the upcoming season.  Ara will lead the Orange Squad and White Meadowvale squad while Roman will lead the Regional Junior squad.  He will also assist with the Orange squad and Glen Forest White squad.  Ara will also assist with the Blue squad four practices each week.  It is exciting to have both of these quality people and quality coaches working within our program.

Some other new coaching faces on the team this year will be Chris Caloian and Wendy Babits.  Chris will coach both the Regional Development and the new Regional Development B Squads.  Chris is a level 2 coach and very passionate about developing the skills of athletes.  He will be a welcomed dose of consistency and reliability to this program.

Wendy Babits has been with MSSAC as a parent for a long time.  Both of her children, Monica and Mathew have gone through the program from Wave to High Performance and daughter Monica is currently swimming at the University of Michigan and son Mathew will be swimming at the University of Western Ontario.  Wendy still trains in the pool each and every week.  She has been an active coach at the high school level now for many years and she will step into the club program this year to coach the White Cawthra group.
