WELCOME TO FALL + THE 2018 COMPETITION YEAR -   This week Monday marked the beginning of BSC's first FALL session of 2017.  September 1st marks the beginning of the 2018 PACIFIC (USA) SWIMMING  competition year.  We are excited to welcome many new athletes and we are eager to see our returning athletes reunite with their pals at swim team.  Our coaching staff is pleased to work with your family's athletes to help them pursue and improve in in the sport of swimming and other aquatic pursuits. Fees for this session are due September 1st, please proactively pay fees by dropping a check off at the Aquatics desk during practice hours or to make credit card payments at the SMAC courtesy desk.  Our team website is our primary source of information and communications please make sure you know how to access it, sign-in and that your contact information is up to date.

SIGN IN REQUIRED BEGINNING TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 5th - Please observe our team RULES.  Athletes are to sign in at the check-in table near the Aquatics desk each weekday they attend practice.  If your child's name is not on the roster or is not on the correct roster group please let us know at the Aquatics desk or email coach Jim and we will correct it.

COMPETITIVE VS. DEVELOPMENTAL- Our programs are two paralell tracks.  Athletes may change tracks at any time depending on their persional situations.  Our competitive roster groups of Bronze-Gold have expectations surrounding the athlete's dedication and their level of pursuit, gear/equipment and require Pacific Swimming membership.  Pacific Swimming applications must be printed out and mailed in, 2018 applications for those not already registered earlier in 2017 are available at the Aquatics desk  Our developmental/recreational roster groups are Pre-Team, Blue I/II, Fitness and these groups ultimately learn and practice the same things as competitive groups but at a different pace and level of intensity.  Our water polo group is recreational and does not compete outside our facility.  Please visit our SWIM GROUPS page on our team website for details on our roster groups and their prerequisites, attendance and competitive expectations and gear requirements.

SWIMSUIT'S, COMMON SENSE AND REQUIREMENTS - Please pay attention to your athlete's swimsuit's.  Suits should fit well, they should not be overstretched or overfaded.  Coaches would prefer not to have to contact parents because their child is practcing in a suit that is so faded it is transparent or so stretched out that it is approaching the state of not covering things during normal practice activities.  --  Athletes in our competitive roster groups (Bronze-Gold) must wear a swimsuit that complies with USA Swimming rules and athletes with longer hair must wear a cap.  This means two piece suits and swimshirts/rash guards are not permitted in the competitive roster groups.

GEAR REQUIRED FOR COMPETITIVE GROUPS -  All of our competitive groups have mandatory requirements for gear.  Bronze-Silver Advanced require training fins which can be found inexpensively at our team page on SwimOutlet.com.  We advise against scuba and snorkeling fins found at stores like Costco, Target and Walmart.  Upon promotion to the Gold roster group there is the additional gear requirements of: a center mount snorkel and hand paddles.

NO PRACTICES ON MONDAY SEPTEMBER 4th - Labor day holiday

GOLD GROUP NOTES - There will not be LCM Saturday practice September 2.  Due to Labor Day holiday.
