NLU Sprint Decathlon recap

     109 Hammerheads raced at our Sprint Decathlon at the Platte City YMCA. Thank you to all of our volunteers, Northland United puts on great meets because of you! We hosted 427 athletes from ten different teams this year. NLU raced to 73.8% best times, ten Decathlon trophy winners, and one new meet record! On to the highlights…

- Brady Bell took third in the 13-14 boy’s Decathlon.

- Owen Blahnik raced his first 100 breast and 50 free.

- Colin Bralley raced his first meet as a Hammerhead, swimming the 25 fly, 25 back, 25 breast, and 25 free.

- Alex Briggs took home second place in the 11-12 boy’s Decathlon, and earned a pair of big time drops: 7 seconds in the 100 fly, and 11 seconds in the 200 IM.

- Tyler Briggs came in third in the 9-10 boy’s Decathlon.

- Luke Brown is our 13-14 boy’s Decathlon champion.

- Collin Burton cut over 9 seconds in his 100 IM, and 7 seconds in his 100 fly.

- Sage Fletcher dropped 8 seconds in her 50 back, 9 in her 50 free, and raced her first 200 IM.

- Zach Gerdes raced his first SCY meet as a Hammerhead, racing the 50 back, 100 breast, 50 free, 100 back, 50 breast, and 100 free.

- Jolie Graham cut a whopping 32 seconds in her 100 free, 18 in her 50 fly, 17 in her 100 back, and raced her first 100 fly, 100 breast, and 200 IM.

- Jon Greene raced his first SCY meet as a Hammerhead, competing in the 50 fly, 100 back, 50 breast, 100 free, and 100 IM.

- Cole James was second in the 9-10 boy’s Decathlon, aided by first time swims in the 100 fly and 100 back.

- Ava Johnson swam her first 100 fly, 100 breast, and 200 IM.

- Greta Jones raced her first meet as a Hammerhead, swimming the full Decathlon.

- Katie Jones sprinted to an 18 second cut in her 100 fly, and a 9 second cut in her 200 IM.

- Sage Justice swam her first meet as a Hammerhead, racing the 25 back and 25 free.

- David Keightly raced his first meet as a Hammerhead, swimming the 50 back, 50 free, and 100 free.

- Jackson Kennedy dropped a huge 17 seconds in his 100 fly.

- Chase Kindle swam his first meet as a Hammerhead, competing in the 25 back, and 25 free.

- Megan Kindle had some crazy time drops: 33 seconds in her 100 fly, 10 seconds in the 100 breast, 10 seconds in the 100 back, and 28 seconds in her 200 IM.

- Gage McClanahan sprinted to an 8 second drop in the 50 back, 11 seconds in the 100 back, 10 in the 100 free, and raced his first 200 IM and 50 fly.

- Katie McGinnis raced her first meet as a Hammerhead, completing the full Decathlon.

- Owen McGinnis swam his first meet as a Hammerhead, racing the 50 back, 100 breast, 50 free, 50 breast, and 100 free.

- Jacey McGraw raced to a big 16 second drop in the 200 IM, 11 seconds in the 100 free, 8 in the 100 back, and swam her first 100 fly and 50 fly.

- Vivian McGuire swam her first meet as a Hammerhead, racing the 50 back, 50 free, 100 free, 25 back, and 25 free.

- Neala McHugh raced her first meet as a Hammerhead, swimming the 25 fly, 25 back, 25 breast, and 25 free.

- Molly Moran sprinted to some big time drops: 20 seconds in her 50 breast, 16 in her 100 IM, 14 in the 100 free, and 10 in the 50 fly, plus racing her first 100 fly, 100 breast, 200 IM, and 100 back.

- Chloe Myers took second in the 13-14 girl’s Decathlon, and set the meet record in the 50 breast.

- Kendall Newton had a pair of ridiculous time drops: 45 seconds in the 100 breast and 50 seconds in the 200 IM.

- Brooke Nichols raced her first meet as a Hammerhead, swimming the 50 back, 100 breast, 50 free, 100 back, 50 breast, and 100 free.

- Lucas Nichols swam his first meet as a Hammerhead, competing in the 50 back, 100 breast, 50 free, 100 back, 50 breast, and 100 free.

- Alexander Ornes swam his first 50 free, 50 breast, and 100 free.

- Andi Osborne raced her first meet as a Hammerhead, swimming the 50 back, 100 breast, 50 free, 50 breast, 100 free, and 100 IM.

- Elijah Osborne raced his first meet as a Hammerhead, completing the 50 back, 50 free, 100 back, and 100 free.

- Clay Pilliard is the 11-12 boy’s Decathlon champion, boosted by an 11 second cut in the 100 breast.

- Isla Prado swam her first meet as a Hammerhead, racing the 50 back, 50 free, 25 fly, 25 back, and 25 free.

- Maddie Prater swam her first 50 back, 50 breast, and 100 free.

- Phil Realina had some really big drops: 13 seconds in the 100 back, 28 in the 50 breast, 36 in the 50 fly, and 54 seconds in the 100 IM.

- Ayla Ringo raced her first 100 breast, and dropped 14 seconds in her 50 free and another 16 in the 50 back.

- Matt Ringo raced his first meet as a Hammerhead, swimming the 50 back, 100 breast, and 50 free.

- Kemper Roberts raced his first 100 fly, and cut 9 seconds in the 100 back and 12 in the 200 IM.

- Kennedy Roberts raced her first meet as a Hammerhead, swimming the 25 back and 25 free.

- Morgan Roberts cut over 17 seconds in her 100 fly.

- Camille Schear earned a pair of big drops: 9 seconds in her 100 IM and 10 seconds in her 100 fly.

- Ben Schneider sprinted to a 16 second cut in the 200 IM and an 8 second cut in the 100 breast.

- Sarah Scott dropped over 10 seconds in her 100 fly, and raced her first 200 IM.

- Henry Snider raced to a 17 second cut in the 200 IM, and a 7 second drop in the 100 fly.

- Octavious Soriano swam his first 100 fly and 100 IM, and dropped 8 seconds in the 50 fly, 9 seconds in the 50 back, and 11 seconds in the 50 breast.

- Jack Stanley won the 9-10 boy’s Decathlon, aided by an 8 second drop in the 200 IM and a 16 second drop in the 100 fly.

- Hannah Stewart stepped up and raced her first 100 fly, and dropped nearly 11 seconds in her 100 back.

- Barr Swigert made his NLU debut racing the 25 fly, 25 back, 25 breast, and 25 free.

- Ella Turley sprinted to a pair of huge time drops: 24 seconds in the 100 fly, and 47 seconds in the 200 IM.

- Jack Vaden improved by over 10 seconds in his 50 breast.

- Emma Will took home third in the 15-18 girl’s Decathlon.

- Jonathan Wolf raced his first meet as a Hammerhead, swimming the 100 breast and 50 free.
