We would like to thank the good people at the CBC for coming by and covering our participation in the International Water Safety Foundation's Guinness World Record attempt for 'Most People Treading Water' simultaneously.
The CBC filed this story outlining the Legends's motivation in getting involved as the sole Canadian representative amongst 49 sites participating in the Tread-A-Thon. Newfoundland and Labrador has the unfortunate distinction of having the highest drowning rate in all of Canada. With our involvement in the Tread-A-Thon we hope we motivate our community to getting involved in your local swimming lessons programs and hopefully at some point into your local competitive swim program.
Thank you to all in our community who came out, treaded water, volunteered as a steward, or served as a witness for this event. When the record has been verified by the Guiness folks we will post an update!
