Diving Canada welcomes top Pan American Junior divers to Victoria

Competition will run September 28th to October 1st at the Saanich Commonwealth Place

 

Victoria, September 27, 2017 – Diving Plongeon Canada, in collaboration with the Union Americana de Natacion (UANA) and the Boardworks Diving Club, is welcoming the Americas’ most talented junior divers for the 2017 UANA Pan American Junior Diving Championships.

Over 100 divers from Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Mexico, Puerto Rico and the United States will be competing in 26 events at the Saanich Commonwealth Place, north of Victoria, B.C. The championships are held every other year and feature competition on 1-metre, 3-metre and platform for boys and girls in four age groups: 11-and-under (D), 12-13 (C), 14-15 (B) & 16-18 (A).

Running in conjunction with the UANA Pan American Junior Diving Championships is a FINA School for Officials and a UANA Judge Development Program. A total of 39 judges from nine countries, including 27 Canadian national judges, are participating in this diving symposium. Michael Geissbuehler, from Switzerland, and Mathz Lindberg, from Sweden are the course facilitators appointed by FINA  .
