We are one week out from our fist team hosted meet of the season and we have a lot to do! PLEASE BE SURE TO READ AT MINIMUM THE HEADDERS MARKED WITH A AND THE BOLD SECTIONS OF THIS EMAIL. Other sections will be important but the bold sections will be the important info and help you to decide if you need more info on a certain topic. Without further ado, catch this week’s set as the weekly waves come rolling in...
BLUE WAVE INVITE
This weekend is our team hosted meet. If you have not already done so, please log in and register to work and donate food for the meet. Job and donation sign ups can be found here. As a reminder, all families are required to work at least two shifts at the meet. If you can not be at the meet and have already communicated that to Coach Brent, please reach out to Mary Sortland to see what prep and breakdown duties you can help with. We will have more specifics about the meet out tomorrow including warm-up and session timelines.
The team equipment order should be in this week. We will have the equipment at practice sites if it comes in by Wednesday or at the meet if it comes in Thursday or later. This should include almost everything ordered but anything not with the order will be delivered ASAP.
In an effort to continue to allow our coaches the opportunity to work with all the swimmers in their practice group, as well as allow the swimmers to receive feedback from all our coaches, we will begin coaching rotations this week. As a staff we hope that this, in conjunction with Saturday practices, will allow our swimmers to receive the highest caliber coaching possible. Coaches will rotate once a week with coaching pairs rotating twice a month. There is no set schedule, but coaching pairs will always rotate with one another and not across practice groups. That will still be reserved for Saturday practices only. Coach Brent and Coach Alex will rotate and coach with the SR/B and H/O groups while Coach David and Coach Tammy will roatate and coach the M/T and H/O groups. We look forward to this exciting opportunity and if you have any feedback on this program over the next month, please feel free to speak with any of the coaches before or after practices.
TEAM GAME NIGHT
With all practices at Parkville on Thursday, October 12th due to the HS JV Conference at PCN we wanted to organize a fun event for our swimmers. We will therefore be hosting a Team Game night at PCS in Gen Room B from 4:30-7:30p. Monsoon and Typhoon swimmers are encouraged to attend the entire time since they will not swim that night and our older swimmers are encouraged to drop in before or after practice. We will be playing games that the swimmers can play at meets such as phase 10, Uno, trash, golf, skip-bo, spoons and many more. If you have a game like that, please feel free to bring it along. We also encourage our swimmers to bring a healthy snack or drink and a water bottle with them. We look forward to a night of fun and games.
The Parade was a huge success and we look forward to participating in events like this in coming years. If you have an event you would like to suggest for our team in the future, please forward it to Brent or bring it to a parent board meeting.
This past week’s Attendance can be found on the Attendance Page of the website. Please remember that late arrivals and swimmers who miss dryland will be penalized a portion of practice unless it is excused and communicated in advance of the start of swim practice. As always if you have any discrepencies with this week's attendnace, please speak with your deck coach by Friday.
THAT CONCLUDES THIS WEEKS SET. THANKS FOR TUNING IN. PLEASE LET US KNOW IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS. WE WILL SEE YOU POOLSIDE THIS WEEK!
