Penticton Iron Pentathlon Swim Meet

 Oct 13 – 15 th

The Kamloops Classic Swim Club had 40 Swimmers compete at the Penticton Iron Pentathlon Oct 13 – 15 th . The Classics had a total of 52 top 3 placing’s in the meet (23 Firsts, 12 Seconds and 17 third place finishes) and placed 3 rd overall. During the weekend, the swimmers competed in 5 events each day for a total of 15 events over the weekend. The times in all the events go towards determining which swimmer is the overall Triple Iron Pentathlete Champion of the meet. Those swimmers from Kamloops included:                                                            

Sienna Angove in the 10 & Under Girls won a total of 15 events to win the 10 & Under Girls Iron Pentathlete award. Lily Eckerman in the 10 & Under Girls was 3 rd in  Iron Pentathlete award while having 14 new best times in the meet. Keana Smart in the 14 & Under Girls won a 3 events, 1 second place finish and 3 3 rd place finishes  to place 3 rd in the 14 & Under Girls Iron Pentathlete Award. Michael Dagasso in the 14 & Under boys placed 2 nd in the 14 & Under Girls Iron Pentathlete Award.  Ryley McRae in the 15 & Over Boys won 4 events and placed 2 nd in two events to finish 2 nd in the 15 & Over Boys Iron Pentathlete Award. The following swimmers from Kamloops had outstanding efforts in the meet ; Jake Gysel (12) and Kate McCullagh (12) who had15 lifetime bests times in the 15 individual swims. Maya Eckerman (8) accumulated a whopping 108 seconds of total individual improvement in 11 individual events. Claire Bagabuyo in the 10 & Under girls had 11 top 3 finishes, 5 second place and 6 third place finishes.
