(Please share with your swimmer)
I was very impressed with the Swimmers who attended the Vernon Meet. After only a couple of weeks of practice since the Triple Pentathlon they were able to put together some excellent swims and many best times.
Next year, my intention is to bring more Regional swimmers to this meet as an introduction to Heats/Finals swimming, which brings a new element to swimming.
Breakdown of the Vernon Meet in Numbers:
7 swimmers -- 4 females 3 males
40 Best Times
4 Finalists: Jessica, Phoebe, Gavin, Dezi
6x Club Records: Dezi (5 Records). Mackenzie (1 record 200 BK)
2x New Tier Provincial Times: Mackenzie Bird and Jessica Thiede (eventhough they will age up before the event, their pictures will be added to the qualifiers board)
DEADLINE for KAJ NOV 18-19: MONDAY NOV 6th.
The next meet is Kelowna and we already have a big group attending the meet. If the 7 athletes in Vernon are any indication of swimming progress, KAJ in 2 weeks will see some fast swimming, and maybe some new Provincial Qualifiers.
Training for the next 2 weeks will focus more on maintaining technique through longer distances and at faster speeds, start, turn, and finish details as well as digging deep for 200m+ events.
DEADLINE: KAMLOOPS MEET: Early December
December's Kamloops meet is currently a Team Travel expedition for 12&O athletes. The 11&U athletes are welcome to attend but with parent accompaniment. I have booked Team Travel Hotels at the Hampton Inn, and families are welcome to join us.
As soon as I have all the meet details with entry file I will email to groups.
We will need a parent(s) volunteers as team chaperone for the Kamloops Meet. If you are interested please send me an email and I can forward you details.
See you at the pool,
