CMA swimmers continued their strong performances at the CSST hosted Gian-Luc Open swim meet. More results will be coming!
This was our first multi-day meet of the season and it went very well. I thought that all swimmers started to show off the skill and knowledge with confidence. This was the first meet for many Bronze swimmers that included more than just the 50 Free. There were 6 Bronze swimmers that swam their first 50 Backstroke and 50 Breaststroke and they all did their best and had fun with it. Eli Marm had all best times for the meet and he took off a total of 30.1 seconds! Lucy Larson was close behind taking off 22.72 seconds and swimming a fast 100 Free. Carter Cefalo did very well in his first meet with us with a huge time drop in his 25 Free. The Silver group came back with some very fun and exciting 100 IM races. I saw so much improvement with each stroke, turn, and streamline. Sofia Day did so well in her first 100 IM, Coach Kristen and I are very proud of her. I also had several swimmers begin racing in the 100 Backstroke and 100 Breaststroke. Although many were nervous about the events, everyone finished and I thought they all did their absolute best. Haley Gates was the Silver champion of this meet because she took on the 200 Free and took off 15.87 seconds. She did so well and swam as fast as she could.
For our seniors, the Gian Luc Jordan Invite represented the first real indicator of how the fall season is progressing. With many new members of the group, the first couple of months are taken up by swimmers getting back in shape and getting used to a new style of training. During this meet the first indicators ae showing up. On that end, we had plenty of swimmers dropping a bunch of new best times. Leading the way was Isaac Eilmes with 6 new personal best times (100 fly, 200 free, 200 IM, 50 free and 500 free). Max Campbell followed closely with 5 best times (100 free, 50 back, 50 breast, 50 fly and 50 free). Bethany Slivka also posted 5 best times (100 free, 1650 free, 200 back, 200 M and 500 free). We also had Kambry Lightfoot with 3 p.b. (200 breast, 200 IM and 50 free), Kaelyn Hinesley with 3 p.b. (200 breast, 200 free and 200 IM), Evan Branham with 2 (100 breast and 100 free), Caroline Bricker with 2 (200 free and 50 free), Ysa Carrell with 2 (100 back and 50 free), Sophia Bricker with 2 (200 free and 400 IM) and Juwon Hong with 2 as well (100 fly and 200 free). Adding one personal best were Madelyn Branham (200 back), Daphne Williams (100 back) and her sister Rouge Williams (100 free).
