November Swimmers of the Month

November Swimmers of the Month

These swimmers were chosen by our coaching staff for their attitude, effort, attendance, and performance in the month of October.

Bronze 1: Molly Hendricksen.   Molly has become so much more confident in herself as a swimmer in these first two months of LY. At the beginning of the season, she stayed in the back of her lane and was so quiet. She hardly said two words at practice. Now she is up near the front of her lane, chatting and laughing with the other Bronze 1 girls. She is always smiling and we are so excited to continue watching Molly gain confidence in herself and overcome her fears and nervousness. We are proud of you, Molly!

Bronze 2: Gavin Harrington - Watching Gavin improve his strokes and succeed at meets is so rewarding. Gavin truly is a hard worker at practice! He has worked his way up to the front of the lane and does so well at pushing himself and his teammates to race fast. His effort sure paid off, as we saw some fantastic races from Gavin at the Quad Meet in October! He dropped seven seconds in 50 Back, six seconds in 100 Free, and an incredible eleven seconds in 100 Breast. Way to go, Gavin!

Silver: Davis Hottle - Davis is awesome to watch at practice! He is so good about giving 100% effort pretty much 100% of the time. Even when we have a somewhat easy set that is focusing more on technique rather than speed, he still gives does both a beautiful stroke at racing speed. His good attitude and determination are an excellent example for his peers to follow. Davis certainly had a great meet in October, making best times in all six of his events - from 200 IM all the way down to 50 Breast. Great job, Davis! Keep up the hard work!

Gold: Emory Hill. Emory has been really improving a lot in her technique. What has impressed the coaches the most is her attitude about being at practice. She comes to practice so excited and happy about being able to swim fast and learn something new. She swam an excellent 50 free at the October meet, improving over a second to go 30.57, nearly breaking that 30-second milestone.

Varsity: Marley Peterson. Marley had a great October. She has been putting tons of hard work in training and has improved significantly. She had 100% drops at the October meet including the 200 free (-6.1), 200 IM (-6.2), 100 breast (-2.4), and 200 breast (-18.9). Marley has done a great job this season and has been fearless in training and in her races! Good job Marley, keep up the hard work!

National: Daniel Pettyjohn.  Daniel has been on fire at practice in the month of October, particularly in breaststroke, his specialty.  At the October meet, he had several excellent swims, including 2 event wins in the 100 and 200 breast.  His 200 time was an improvement of  more than 5 seconds, and his 100 dropped nearly two.  Both swims inched him closer to his goal of qualifying for Y Nationals.  Go Daniel!
