Successful Swim International for BAC

The Brantford Aquatic Club once again hosted its annual Swim International competition at the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre, November 10th to 12th. Eighteen teams from around Ontario and Quebec participated in the competition. The Brantford Aquatic Club finished 2nd overall in team scores and had many outstanding performances with many swimmers achieving Provincial, Festival and Regional qualifying times this early in the season.

We had many swimmers earn gold in at least one event.

Maddison Blyth (14) won gold in the 400 IM as well as bronze in the 100 and 200 breaststroke events.

Emma Cabral (13) won gold in the 1500 freestyle and 400 freestyles. She also won silver in the 100 freestyle and breaststroke as well as bronze in the 200 butterfly.

Alanna Casasanta (13) won gold in the 400 IM, 200IM and 100 breaststroke. She also won silver in the 800 freestyle, 200 breaststroke and bronze in the 100 and 200 backstrokes.

Gabriella Casasanta (13) won gold in the 50, 100, 200 and 800 freestyles. She also won the 100 and 200 butterfly events.

William Langridge (10) won gold in the 50 butterfly and finished top eight in three of his individual events.

Fiona Liao (11) won gold in the 50 backstroke as well as silver in the 50 free and fly and bronze in the 400 free.

Camryn Payne (14) won gold in the 800 freestyle. She also finished top eight in 200 free, 200 back, 100 breaststroke and 200 IM.

Cole Scheffel (16) won gold in the 800 freestyle as well as bronze in the 100 backstroke and silver in the 50 butterfly.

Jack Tran (10) won gold in the 100 butterfly, 50 backstroke and 100 freestyle. He also won silver in the 100 and 200 backstrokes and the 200 IM.

Lei Wu (14) won gold in the 400 freestyle and was top eight in all seven of his individual events.

 

Other BAC medal winners:

Natalie Atkins (11) won silver in the 100 frees and bronze in the 200 and finished top eight in four other events.

Tristan Berridge (14) won silver in the 50 breaststroke and 200 butterfly and finished in the top eight in three other events.

Ashley Blasdell (13) won silver in the 50 butterfly and finished top eight in six other events.  

Ellie Bolton (14) won silver in the 200 butterfly and bronze in the 800 freestyle. She was also in the top eight for two other individual events.

Adi Brumaru (14) won silver in the 1500 freestyle, 100 and 200 breaststrokes as well as bronze in the 200 IM and 200 freestyle.

Connor Cabral (11) won bronze in the 50 breaststroke and finished top eight in three other events.

Marion Denny (16) won silver in the 200 breaststroke and bronze in the 800 freestyle.

Graydon Dickson (15) won bronze in the 800 freestyle and was top eight in three other evetns.

Max Dobie (14) won silver in the 200 freestyle and bronze in the 100 and 1500 freestyles as well as the 200 breaststroke and IM.

Gabrielle Eivers (15) won silver in the 800 freestyle and 200 butterfly. She was top eight in three other individual events.

Abigail Fellinger (10) won silver in the 50 breaststroke and bronze in the 50 backstroke. She also finished top eight in three of other individual events.

Jenna Fortier (13) won bronze in the 50 butterfly. She finished top eight in three other individual events.

Brendan Gibson (10) won silver in the 50 backstroke and finished in the top eight in three of his individual events.

Nadia Gillis (11) won bronze in the 50 backstroke and finished in the tip eight in three of her individual events.

Dylen Harrison (11) won bronze in the 50 butterfly and finished top eight in two of her individual events.

Niamh Kukla (11) won silver in the 50 backstroke and finished top eight in two of her individual events.

Angela Marina (18) won silver in the 800 freestyle. She set a new Canadian Record in the S14 Para category in that event. She also set National Records in the 400 freestyle, 100 butterfly and 200 IM.

Lauryn Phillips (9) won bronze in the 50 breaststroke. She also finished 9th in the 100.

Carter Scheffel (12) won bronze medals in the 200 and 400 freestyles, 200 breaststroke and 200 butterfly.

Emily Smith (12) won silver in the 100 butterfly and 200 IM as well as bronze in the 50 and 100 freestyles.

Hannah Sweeney (13) won bronze in the 200 freestyle and finished in the top eight in three of her individual events.

Daniel Torr (14) won bronze in the 50 breaststroke and finished in the top eight in two of his individual events.

Ashley Villamere (13) won bronze in the 50 breaststroke and backstroke. She also finished in the top eight in five of her individual events.

 

BAC swimmers scoring in the top eight and setting personal bests;

Connor Atkins (14) finished in the top eight in three of his individual events and set personal bests in all of them.

Karissa Banse (13) finished top eight in two of her individual events and set personal bests in all her swims but two.

Trinity Braithwaite (13) finished in the top eight in five individual events and set personal bests in all but one.

Celine Dube (12) set personal bests in five of her six events and finished in the top eight in the 50 breast.

Sophie Dube (10) finished in the top eight in three events and set personal bests in three events.

Alfonso Faria Espinoza (15) finished in the top eight in five events and set personal bests in seven total swims.

Daniel Gao (13) finished in the top eight in five individual events setting personal bests in all but two races.

Madelyne Gruenwald (10) finished in the top eight in two of her races and set personal bests in five events.

Molly Hector (15) set personal bests in the 50 breaststroke and 50 backstroke.

Amelia Jackson (13) finished in the top eight in two events and set personal bests in all her individual events.

Isabel Langridge (12) finished in the top eight in three individual events and set personal bests in all her individual events.

Lindsay Liu (13) finished in the top eight in two events and set personal bests in all but one of her individual events.

Sydney McBeth (12) finished in the top eight in four of her individual races and set personal bests in all her races.

Joshua McDougall (12) finished in the top eight in all seven of his individual races and all in personal bests.

Ellery McLean (10) finished in the top eight in two of her individual events. She swam personal bests in six of her seven races.

Lexi McLean (12) finished in the top eight in two of her individual races. She swam personal bests in six of her seven races.

Anna Myers (10) swam personal bests in five events and finished in the top eight in three of them.

Tori Newlove (16) set personal bests in six of her seven individual races.

Hunter Payne (11) finished in the top eight in all seven of his individual races with all swims setting a personal best.

Mia Pelletier (14) finished in the top eight in her 400 freestyle and set personal bests in five of her seven races.

Madeline Purcell (13) finished in the top eight in three individual races and set personal bests in five events.

Chloe Svec (12) finished top eight in the 50 breaststroke and set personal bests in all six of her individual races.

Jacob Vanderburg (16) finished in the top eight in his 50 backstroke and set seasonal bests in most of his races.

 

The above swimmers will now prepare for the upcoming Team Showdown December 15 to 17 held at the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre.
