Hello LAC Families, we had another awesome day at JOs and at the Husky Invit. Several team records were broken at both meets and there were over 80% best times.
*Yesterday Tyler broke the 400IM record at JOs and Maggie broke the 200IM record at Husky
At JOs today, we had a streak of 10 best times in a row. Highlights included: Minh-nha with a 5 second drop in the 200 free, Jack H. and Ryan going under 2:00 fo the first time, Aven getting best times in the 200 fr and 200 bk, Minh-nha beating a team record just set yesterday by Maggie in the 50 free, Bryson getting best in 2bk, Jacques big swims in 2bk and 2fly, and Jack H. a big swim in 2fl. My apologies if I missed anyone, I am piecing together info from texts :)
Congrats to Sophia who was the only 9 year old in 200 free. Special recognition to Gabby who missed JOs by .2 in 200 free, we almost had two 9 year olds!
Let's go JO kids, beat your steak of 10 best times in a row tomorrow!
At Husky we had a great day as well. We laid down a streak of 20 best times in a row that included everyone in the 400IM, 100 fly, and women's 200 free. Chenoa made her first ever Far Western time in the IM. Every single swimmer got at least one best time today. Jackie made finals in the 100 breast placing 7th. Jared was in a swim off for first alternate and beat his best by 1 second, finishing .2 from Junior Nationals. Abby dropped 4 in 100 fly. Melinda dropped 2 in 100 breast. Our girls A medley relay placed 20th overall and scored big points for our team.
Way to go LAC! It is great to be at a meet where the team's focus is on putting all their effort into their swims and supporting each other.
Thanks chaperones Trish and Steve Gomez and Wes Arnold for all the great work you are putting in at Husky!
Let's have a great last day of the meet tomorrow!
