PEAQ SWIMMERS COMPETE AT WINTER JUNIOR NATIONALS
PEAQ SWIMMERS COMPETE AT WINTER JUNIOR NATIONALS – PEAQ swimmers Josh Matheny, Jack Fitzpatrick, Nico Butera, and Brandon Novak competed at the USA Swimming Winter Junior National Championship Meet this past week.  This meet is the premier short course championship meet for swimmers 18 & under.  PEAQ coach Chris Odgen traveled with the team to the Allan Jones Aquatic Center at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.  Congratulations to our PEAQ swimmers!
 
Individual Events
Josh Matheny finaled in both the 100 Breast (9th place - 54.81) and the 200 Breast (13th place -2:00.05).  Josh also swam the 200 IM as a bonus event (1:55.72)
 
Jack Fitzpatrick had personal best swims breaking the 4-minute mark in the 400 IM (3:59.10) and going 1:49.25 in his 200 Back.  He also swam the 200 IM (1:54.77) and the 100 Back (50.94)
 
Relays
The PEAQ team swam two relays:  the 200 Medley Relay and the 400 Medley Relay.  For both races, the team swam Jack (back), Josh (breast), Nico (fly), and Brandon (free).  Results:
200 Medley Relay – 34th place 1:34.49
400 Medley Relay – 50th place 3:27.89
 
The swimmers did an excellent job of representing PEAQ on the national stage.  Congratulations to Josh, Jack, Nico, and Brandon.
