USA Swimming Disability Committee and the United States Paralympic Swimming will be partnering in presenting the 2018 Disability Swimming Workshop in Colorado Springs on the United States Olympic Training Center Campus and pool.

USA Swimming Disability Workshop is being held in conjunction with the USOC. February 2nd & 3rd, 2018 @ the Colorado Springs Olympic Training Center.

  • You will learn from the nation’s best U. S. Paralympic Coaches. 
  • You will work with the U.S. Paralympic Swimming Resident Team to learn first-hand what it takes to train a Para-swimmer. 
  • You will gain a working Knowledge on how to adapt training and technique concepts. 
  • You will also hear presentation from the USA Swimming Disability Committee about athlete inclusion within our swim team program. 
  • You will learn what resources exist with U.S. Paralympics Swimming for athletes/coaches. 
  •  Participates will receive free online courses.

Workshop Logistics

  •  Schedule: Workshop begins on Friday Feb. 2nd 2018 & concludes Saturday Feb. 3rd 2018.
  •  Accommodations:   Housing and meals provided at the OTC. Including the registration. 
  •  Travel: Book and for your own travel. Ground transportation will be provided to & from the Colorado Springs Airport.

Registration will take place on Friday February 2nd at 4pm at the USA Swimming Headquarters on campus.  The opening Welcoming and presentation will start at 5pm in Dirks Room and presented by members of the USA Disability National Committee.

Saturday February 3rd, participants will have a daylong Pool and classroom experience at the USOC Aquatic Center working with some of the top National Coaches for Para Swimming and athletes in the water.  Queenie Nichols, Director of Performance for USP Swimming will be leading this hands on experience.

This being presented to any USA member Coach that wishes to participate and learn about training, inclusion to USA programs, Coaching and competition opportunities.

You will be asked to cover your transportation to Colorado Springs.  USA Swimming will cover your cost using the USOC transportation to and from the airport, your housing, food and cost of the course.  If you choose to drive you will be provided a parking pass for the weekend stay.  This course will run to 6pm on Saturday and departure for the airport is early Sunday morning, Feb. 4th.

All participants MUST be a current member of USA Swimming.

Dates: Feb. 2-3, 2018 for the clinic and check into your room on the Feb 2 - Feb. 4, 2018 check out of the rooms early morning.

Registration: Must be online and the Deadline for Registration is January 19th. – NO cost other than your transportation to Colorado Springs.

After you register you will receive USOC forms to fill out before you arrive.

You will also need to share your flight schedule into Colorado Springs so you can be picked up by the USOC Transportation. 

If you choose to drive - please let us know so can plan on your entry into the Training Center and provide a parking pass for you.

Your sleeping rooms are provided for Feb. 2 and 3 with roommates and food is all provided for starting with dinner on Feb. 2 through breakfast on Feb. 4th.
