The 2017 calendar year is drawing to a close and the JP Fiset Invitational meet served as the last meet for Silver Tide swimmers before taking a well-earned break from training. The 16 Silver Tide swimmers had their best showing in years placing 14th overall in the team standings. Silver Tide fielded 5 relays this meet with the 11-12 girls relay placing 7th in the 200 Free relay.
Out of 80 swims, we had 39 best times and dropped 353.47 seconds from existing best times.
Highlights of the meet:
Liv Riech- 4 Club records, 1 meet record, 100% best times, 39.45 seconds, 1 Gold, 4 Silver and 1 Bronze medal. Olivia qualified for the Senior Championships in the 200 Free as well.
Kamryn Cannings- 1 club record, 1 Silver, 1 Bronze medal, 8 best times shaving 52.84 seconds off best times. On top of her medals Kamryn earned qualifying times in the 200 Fly and 50 Back and a #1 Ranking in Canada for 11 Year Olds in the 50 Fly!!!
Kaycee Cannings- 4 best times and 50.12 seconds improvement while also qualifying for provincials in the 100 Fly.
Abbey Browne- 100% best times, 11.23 seconds with solid relay performances and a Provincial time in her 50 Free.
Makenna Larsen- 2 finals, 2 best times, 47.08 seconds notching a new Provincial time in the 800 Free.
Kalena Elfstedt- 5 best times, 52.47 seconds and a Provincial time in the 100 Back.
The dedication and training is showing results. Keep up the hard work and the results will come. What a fantastic way to wrap up 2017.
Silver Tide will be on a training break from December 23rd to January 1. We will be back to training and racing in January with training sessions starting January 2nd. Please see group calendars for training times over the holidays starting January 2.
