PYP Ho Ho Meet; Lessons Learned!

Hurricanes Swimmers and Parents:

Our last meet for 2017 took place at the Palm Harbor YMCA. This was a Y "closed" meet, meaning that just YMCA teams could participate. It was tough to post fast times after coming off such a successful meet the weekend before in Clearwater, but we did a nice job.

We did have a few athletes that acted very disrespectfully towards the meet and their level of effort during their event(s). When our Team is at a meet, you are REQUIRED to act respectfully towards all competitors, meet hosts, and officials. The next time any such behavior is witnessed at any meet, the athlete (s) causing the problem will be scratched from the rest of the meet and possibly excused from the Team. No reason for any disrespectful actions at a meet! If you can't respect the sport, volunteers, and other athletes, then you are not welcome in this program!

Our gold medalists for the meet include; Sawyer Nass (8), winning the 25 free, 50 free, and 25 breast; and Wes Kephart (15) winning the 100 free.

New FLAG cuts were made by;  Ryan Wadsworth (50 free / 50 fly), Bogdan Zverev (50 breast); and William Wadsworth (50 free).

For our "biggest loser" competition, Hajnalka Penszki led the way by dropping over 14 seconds in her individual events! The rest of our "losers" included:   Bogdan Zverev (-9.5), Zoe Schwartz (-4.7), Anabel Tocco (-4.5), Jessica Muniz (-4.4), and Ryan Wadsworth (-4.2).

we had one New Team Record set:

8 & under boys:  Sawyer Nass  -  25 breast  -  20.22  (Chase Caldwell  -  20.44  -  2017)
