A Flurry of Meet Entries as We Head into Short Course
Beginning this week, coaches, swimmers, and parents have to plot out the swim meets that will make for a successful short course season for each and every Coho swimmer. February meet entries are opening up and proper planning promotes positive results.
Our team hosted meet, the 2018 Polar Plunge, is the first weekend of February. Coaches encourage all swimmers to sign up for new events (especially IMX and IMR) and full sessions (the entry file should be available this weekend).
The second weekend of February has two meets of interest for our Cohos: the Michigan Open, hosted by OLY, is for qualified swimmers and is great preparation for championship swimming; the Guppy Bowl, hosted by Lake Orion Liquid Lightning, is for all swimmers aged 8 & under. As entry files become available, they will be posted to our members.
Michigan Swimming’s District Meets are being held the third weekend of February. Swimmers who have not yet qualified for JO’s or State Meet are eligible for this event.
March brings the Michigan Swimming Junior Olympics and State Meets. These meets have qualifying standards which may be found at:
Questions regarding meet and event selection may be directed to lead coaches at either site. We encourage adventure in the sport of swimming, and are happy to outfit swimmers with the skills needed for accomplishing individual and team goals!
