My groups had a great weekend at the Zone 2 meet. We had an eight and under girls free relay compete. Veronica, Allison, Alexis, and Jamie did a great job racing. Samvit did a 25 breaststroke with the best technique I’ve seen from him. Sienna from my junior development group exuded more confidence in her races. She has been focusing and putting her full attention towards bettering her strokes and it shows. She got a personal best in 50 free breaking 30 seconds. These all are swimmers that have been putting in great effort to improve and it was amazing to watch them compete after working so hard.
The Zone 2 Champs ended up very well. As it is the first meet of the new year, we do not expect much from the AG 2 and AG 3 swimmers as far as time drops are concerned. We do, however, expect to see great technique and racing skills and it is fun to race in this meet.
A couple of good performances were Sasha Babushkina, in AG2, in the 10-u 100 Free with a time of 1:15.45 and from AG 3, Liam Hancock in the 11-12 100 IM with a time of 1:23.06. These were big drops for these two swimmers.
Performance, in general, is not about times. It is about effort and details that have been worked on at practice and transferred to meets.
Next meet is Ellis CBBB+ which is now open for entries. We hope to see you all there.
Great weather for a January swim meet, and the SR Development and the Varsity groups made great use of it. Both groups have been exploring new ways to swim faster and how to bring it to the meet.

We had three swimmers from Age Group 1 swim at the meet: Sanvhi Bhattacharya, Jenna Galant, and Jacob Nguyen. They swam well with a lot of excitement and energy. They showed a lot of improvement in their technique and speed. Great job!
The Pre-Seniors were really successful with lots of best times and fast swimming. We also had a bunch of new JO and Far Western times. Piper Stickler and Eamon Helding qualified for JOs in the 100 Freestyle. Megan Nguyen in the 200 Freestyle and Elaina Robinson in the 100 Breaststroke qualified for Far Westerns. We also had three relays qualify for Far Westerns: 11/12 Girls 200 Free, 11/12 Boys 200 Medley, 13/14 Girls 200 Medley.
We also had a number of swims that were very close to qualifying for JOs and Far Westerns. It’s exciting to see our hard work result in achieved goals.
