ITS MEET WEEK!! WOOHOO!
THT Arctic Blast
The end of this week is the Arctic Blast. Friday Saturday and Sunday will be one of, if not the largest swim meets ever to take place in Terre Haute. To help put this on, we need workers to at the meet. Please remember that all families are expected to help with 3 shifts through the course of the weekend. At this point we have about 70 open spots (not counting officials) that we need filled for our meet.
We have just started our February lessons, and we will have one last session for March, between our Divisionals and Vigo Schools Spring Break. Six 30 minute lessons, with an instructor in the water. Great for friends of your swimmers, and great for those Spring Break plans.
Along with our website, that everyone knows and loves (terrehautetorpedoes.com), we also have an active facebook page. Search Terre Haute Torpedoes for even more info.
High School/College Championships
Kudos to Torpedoes this past weekend, not only at our home pool and the HCAC Championships, but also those girls in Indianapolis at the IHSAA State meet. Coach Bethany lowered her RHIT record in the 100 fly to 58.92 and 200 fly to 2:12.53. Amanda Waldbieser, placing 28th in the state in the 100 Fly, and Apsara Sakbun placing 24th in the 100 free and 26th in the 100 back. What a way to cap off their seasons for their schools. These ladies are also going to Akron in late March to compete for the Torpedoes at the Speedo Sectional meet.
Also in high school, later this week, the boys will start their march to Indianapolis and the HS state meet. The boys Sectional preliminaries at Avon High will happen on Thursday, starting at 6pm. Finals on Saturday, also at Avon starting at 1pm. Good luck to all the TorpedoesNation competing.
