12&U State Day 1

SWAT 12&U’s Start Out Fast

Brown Deer, WI                                                                                             Friday, February 23, 2018

The first session of the 12&U State meet was quite kind for the SWAT swimmers.  I realize I’m still in the moment and guilty of possible hyperbole but that is as good of a 12&U session I’ve ever been a part of.  As a team we sit in second place overall.  The swimmers turned 32 of 35 best times, scored in the top 16 in 21 races and stepped up on the podium 15 times finishing in the top eight.  The amount of time being dropped at a meet of this caliber is almost unheard and extremely delightful to watch.  Swimmers scoring points for the team include:

Elizabeth Beam: 100 Back (6th) & 200 IM (15th)        Mason Bruhn: 200 Fly (4th) & 500 Free (2nd)

Elena Goodbear: 500 Free (12th)                             Macy Jacobson: 500 Free (7th)

Brody LePine: 500 Free (2nd)                                   Hannah Mellock: 200 IM (6th) & 500 Free (6th)

Emmy Meyer: 500 Free (7th)                                     Carley Miller: 200 Fly (11th) & 200 IM (5th)

Ethan Schutten: 500 Free (4th)                                 Drew Shipley: 200 Fly (3rd) & 200 IM (4th)

Ryan Slonac: 200 Fly (5th) & 500 Free (4th)             Caden Stier: 500 Free (12th)

Mason Wendt: 100 Back (14th) & 200 IM (9th)           Eli Wichman: 500 Free (3rd)

Also swimming the Friday session were: Hannah Ernst, Melena Glysch, Emily Hauke, Ella Hrenak, Kasey Meyer, Ela Sparks and Megan Volkening.

The state meet continues with our 10&U swimmers starting out in the morning with an 8:40am start time.  The 11-12 swimmers return to action at 1:15pm.  Follow the meet results on the Meet Mobile app.

We are very much looking forward to the next series of events on Saturday.

GO SWAT!
