DONAGAN –NEW STATE CHAMPION!
Ally Donagan started the first day of state off with a bang when she won the 11-12 500 free, breaking a 21 year old team record, with a 5:14.38. That time put Ally on the all-time historical list, in the 7th spot and was Ally's first Speedo cut. Ally had a great weekend, doing best times in 5 of her 6 events and placing on the podium in 5 events, as well. Ally was 2nd in the 1000 free, 4th in the 200 IM and 400 IM, and 5th in the 200 free.
Jenna Schmitt also had a strong weekend of racing as she placed in the top 8 in all 6 of her events and also did 5 best times. Jenna was 2nd in the 200 free (breaking the 2:00 barrier), 3rd in the 200 breast (new Speedo cut) and 400 IM, 4th in the 1000 free and 200 back and 5th in her 500 free.
Mikayla Bazeley swam 4 best times, after making new cuts and dropping time at Regionals last weekend. Mikayla did best times in her 100 back, 50 fly, 100 IM and 200 IM.
Mikayla was joined by Cora Johnson, Kelly Schmitt and Kelaney Kumlien for our 10&Under 200 medley relay. The girls did a nice job racing as it was the first experience for the 3 relay only swimmers.
