THSC Wins 11-14 OSI Championship Meet

11-14 OSI Championships Feb 22-25, 2018

1st: 863 points THSC
2nd: 817.5 points LOSC
3rd 474.5 points TDST

This was an exciting meet for THSC.  Swimmers rallied together to out swim the competition resulting in the WIN!  The enthusiasm brought to the meet each day was remarkable.  Shouts out to Kevin Lei, and Grace Magee who brought smiles and cheers all day long!  Our senior 14 year olds also helped bring leadership and focus to the meet, which helped bring home the win. Thank you to our 14 year old swimmers for leading the troops!

Thursday: THSC started out on the right foot with the 1650 Freestyle with both Grace Magee and Ally Webster dropping 14 and 9 seconds respectively.  Grace earns the first 2 points of the meet! The 800 free relays were a lot of fun to watch with the girls placing 2nd and the Boys 13-14 relay placing 1st and 3rd!

Friday: After Day 1, THSC was in second behind by 15 points.  The team came together, racing very well.  50 back started the night out with Cadie Johnston coming in 2nd, Kevin Yu & Stephanie Lee placing 3rd, and Frankie Sanger 6th.  Quinn Katayama-Stall was our only swimmer in the 200 back finals and she swam into a 4th place finish dropping nearly 3 seconds for the meet. The 200IM was a good event for us with 8 swimmers placing in finals.  With the 50 free we placed 4 swimmers in finals. Our first Individual Champion came in the 100 fly with Adrienne Tam paving the way with the win! Seven of her teammates also placing in the top 8 in their age group. Ten THSC swimmers placed in the 500 yard free making it one of our best overall events of the day! Ending the evening with the 400medley relay was a great way to end off the night.  Each of our age groups placed 2 relays in the top 8 with the 13-14 girls winning the event and the boys placing 2nd/3rd!

Saturday:

Down by 54 points….the team rallied.

50 and 200 breast: THSC took three 2nd place, one 3rd, two 4th, two 5th, one 6th and one 7th place….and again in the 100 back placing one 2nd, two 3rd, one 4th, two 5th , one 6th, one 7th and one 8th.  We needed another Champion…or two to step it up.  That came with the 200 free!  Both Stephanie Lee and Jessica Maeda made the move and won their events!  Stephanie dipping under the 2 minute mark for the first time with a time of 1:58.61 and Jessica dropping over 2 seconds from her lifetime best!  The last event of the night was the 400 IM.  Kiki Lindsay became our next Champion with her team-mate Hannah Trainer coming in second!

Sunday:

Before the start of the day, we knew we had a chance to take the lead.  We were down by 12.5 points.  The team was excited.  In the beginning of prelims, the 13-14 girls and boys both won the 400 free relay.  That set us up for some great prelim swimming Sunday morning allowing us to score big on Sunday night finals.
