BSL Continues to Impress with Performances in 2018 Southeastern SC Championship

BSL continued the 2017-18 Short Course Championship season with awesome performances at the 2018 Southeastern Swimming Short Course Championship in Huntsville, AL

Swimmers represented BSL against the best swimmers from teams across Alabama, Tennessee, and the Florida Panhandle.  Our swimmers and families certainly showed their team spirit with plenty of cheers and the signs to prove it!

Battling the best of Southeastern Swimming, BSL swimmers achieved 23 individual scoring swims, 2 scoring relays, and many new national and regional qualifying swims among others accomplishments.

Peyton Osborn (18) achieved her first 2018 NCSA Junior National qualifying swim in the Women’s 100y Backstroke, additionally qualifying for the Women’s 50y Backstroke.  2018 NCSA Juniors will be held in Orlando, FL during March, and will feature the top 18 & under swimmers in the country.  Peyton joins current BSL 2018 NCSA Junior National qualifying swimmers Birch Ely and Ward Lockhart, with more to come!

Hunter Carroll (12) swam to his first Age Group Sectional qualifying event in the 11-12 Boys 500y Freestyle.  Wells Ely (12) also added another AGS qualifying swim in the 11-12 Boys 100y Freestyle.  Hunter and Wells are joined by Carson Muir (12) and Norah Simich (12) as 2018 BSL Age Group Sectional qualifiers and will compete in Atlanta, GA in March.  This meet will be held at Georgia Tech University in the 1996 Olympic pool.

In addition to BSL’s new NCSA and AGS qualifiers, Adeline Carroll (15) and Emerson Schneider (10) added new qualifying swims for the 2018 Southeastern Swimming Long Course Championships, to be held in Knoxville, TN this July.

BSL Swimmers Mason Mathias, Carson Muir, and Ariana Zamani led team scoring effort with 4 Individual Scoring Swims each.  Carson scored in the top 8 of 4 individual swims, while Ariana and Mason each had 2 Top 8 and 2 Top 16 performances.  What another great performance by all in the current 2018 SC Championship Season, GO BSL!
