The Titans sent 31 swimmers to the Niagara LSC Championship Meet in Webster the Long Weekend of March 8th to the 11th. These swimmers did us proud swimming hard and pulling together to have a great meet. The team pulled together a total of 104 new personal best times, 77 Finals appearances, and 98 top 20 finishes in the 3-and-a-half-day event. We broke an open boys record from 2014 winning the 200 free relay in the process, congratulations to Christian Balkin, Ben Harper, Liam O’Connell, and Mark Croker. Aidan Morgan smashed 3 individual records, 1000 Free, 100 Back, and 200 Fly! Nine Titans Could do no wrong when they came back to swim at finals swimmer faster at night every time for a total of 25 amazing swims! Amazing job Christian Balkin, Tom Baxter, Fina Bell, Gillian Boal, Haley Griffin, Ben Harper, Anna Kottakis, Lauren Levy, and Alex Switalski. We had several swimmers fight through illness as long as they could and a few missed out on some swims due to it. We can’t always control these things and we have to do the best we can and push through, and they did!
Our 10 and under swimmers did a fantastic job swimming on Saturday and Sunday at the meet. Sirmanual Bell, Brady Garcia, and Campbell Murphy pulled together 11 lifetime bests! Congratulation to all of the 10 and under wonders, and Good luck to Brady as he made the Eastern Zone Age Group Chamiopnship meet in the 100 Back!
The 11-12 swimmers were also amazing! Tom Baxter, Haley Griffin, Declan King, Chloe Marcyan, and Aidan Morgan all got to swim with the big boys and girls in the prelim finals format. All 5 of these fantastic Titans swam fast had fun and were a great part of the team’s Success. They each swam at finals swimming faster and faster all weekend. Great job!
The 13 and over swimmers had nearly 70 personal best, a few more zone cut times, a few top 3 relay finishes, first place finish in the Men's 200 free Relay and Liam O'Connell winning the 100 free. Maya Marcyan and Natalie Fritsch set the tone with their tremendous distance swimming and big drops in their stroke events, Matt Walker, Liam O'Connell, and Ben Harper swam lights out all weekend, Abby Gioia and Veronica Bargnesi qualified for Zones for the first time in the 100 & 200 Backstroke, while Julia Connerton dropped in all her events. It was a great weekend to see the whole group improve and make an impact on the meet individually with second swims or on relays. This was a young group especially in the 13-14 age group that swam the meet with a lot of effort. Great Job!
Many of our swimmers are getting ready for Speedos Sectional meet in Ithaca NY as well as the Eastern Zone Age Group All Star Meet in Webster in a few weeks and we are excited to see them all finish out the season strong.
