Tonight starts the first night of our regular practice schedule! Let's hear it for longer days and sunshine (once we get through all the rain, that is.) Read on for info on New Parent Info Night (tonight), making carpool arrangements, team gear, the practice plan, and a change to Friday's practice schedule due to a Redwood High School meet.

When Will Team Gear be Available for Purchase Again?
Still available for purchase online: Custom Swim Caps and Suits, Parkas and Sweats.
You CAN place your order for custom caps ONLINE. Online cap orders must be placed by March 23rd. What is a custom cap, you ask? The best way to identify your child at a swim meet when s/he is all wet and dressed in the same bathing suit as 250+ of his and her closest team mates. Caps will be available for pick up at Pizza/Cheer Night, April 27th.
Orders for team suits, parkas, hoodies and Tidalwaves sweat pants will all be available directly through T& B Sports (1345 4th Street, San Rafael. Phone: 415-453-2433).
The final window for ordering with T&B will be Now - 3/16. Click here to place your order during that time frame. Any items ordered during this time frame will be available for pick up at Pizza/Cheer night, April 27th. Any items not picked up at Pizza/Cheer will be available at Time Trials, April 28th. Can't make it those 2 days? Ask a friend to pick up for you.
Our version of 'brick and mortar' sales (inventory laid out on a plastic table), will resume at Pizza/Cheer night, Time Trials and the first 2 home meets of the season. Also, available at COM on April 5th during our practice time frame (2:30 - 3:30). Inventory will include pajama bottoms, t-shirts, hoodies, hats, etc.

Nothing says swim parent sanity like a well run carpool! Now that the practice groups are posted, you will be able to find e-mail addresses by using the Member Search page found under the website tab: Contact> Members. Please note that you will need to be logged into your Team Unify (TU) Account to see this information.
How Many Practices Should My Child Attend Each Week?
This is a decision that is up to you and your child. However, Coach Marie recommends 3-4 practices a week for most kids to see improvement throughout the season, for our 5-6 year olds, 2-3 days is probably a better recommendation. Here's an interesting tidbit: we actually have data that shows kids that attend the recommended number of practices a week indicate a greater satisfaction with their own performance as well as the program than those that come less frequently. Adjusted Practice Schedule at REDWOOD this Friday, March 16th
Hang in there, yep, this happens every year. When Redwood High School hosts a swim meet our practice schedule generally has to change to accomodate. Here are the dates that Redwood will host swim meets if you want to be better prepared:

On these meet days we will always try to get our kids in the water as early as possible, but depending on the size of the two teams, we have to do some guessing. Please be flexible on these days and stay with your swimmers until they are checked in at the gate. For this Friday, March 16th, the adjusted practice schedule (at Redwood, only) is as follows:
8 & Under (Blue and Gold)
9-10 (Blue and Gold)
11 & Up (All)
