News and Notes
Thanks again to all of our outstanding swimmers and their families who helped make the 2018 Everyone Counts swim meet and the State Sendoff Party a huge success! Congratulations to all the swimmers who participated in the swim meet this past weekend and to those who earned a trip to the YMCA State Championship this coming weekend! It has been such an amazing season and each and everyone one of you contributed to our team’s success both in and out of the pool! Thank you!
-Last Day of Practices: The last day of practice for swimmers not participating in the Y State meet is Wednesday, March 14. The last day of practice for all Y State swimmers will be Thursday, March 15. Practices Tuesday and Wednesday will be at our normal times and locations. Practice on March 15 will be for Y State swimmers only and will be held at the Appleton Y from 4:30-6 PM.
-YMCA State Championship, March 16-18: We have 22 swimmers that will be participating in the 2018 YMCA State Championship swim meet! They will be swimming a total of 82 individual races and 11 relays. This meet will take place in Brown Deer, WI at the Walter Schroeder Aquatic Center. More meet information will sent to participating families once we receive that information from Schroeder. Congrats and good luck FCYST!!!
-Annual FCYST Banquet, April 15: We will be holding our Annual FCYST Banquet on Sunday, April 15 at Liberty Hall. There is a lot of information about this event on our team website. We would like all FCYST swimmers and their families to attend this event as we will be celebrating the many successes we’ve all had this year. You will need to commit to this event the same as you would a swim meet. Please indicate how many will be coming in the notes section and then please print the Banquet Registration Form that is found HERE and also in the event description on our website. Then mail or drop off that form with your payment by March 20th to the Swim Team Office.
-2018 Spring/Summer Season Updates:
- Hosted Swim Meets: Our team will be back to hosting two summer meets at the fabulous, new Erb Pool. The Summer Classic will take place June 16-17. The Bird Bath Open will take place July 6-8. Please get those 2 weekends on your family calendar as we know summer schedules fill up fast. A reminder that every season each family will be responsible for 4 volunteer sessions, 1 set up or tear down, and 2 concession donations, per the Volunteer Policy.
- Practice and Meet Schedules: Our coaching staff is finalizing the Spring and Summer practice and meet schedules. Look for the new practice and meet schedules as well as new practice group assignments shortly following the YMCA State Meet. Our Spring and Summer Season will start April 23. If you have questions about how the Summer Season works please feel free to contact one of the coaches and we will help give you some ideas about what to expect.
