CAQ has new Head Age Group Coach

Charger Aquatics would like to welcome Aimee Dunavant to our team as the new Head Age Group Coach.  Many of you may know Aimee, as she has been the Head Coach for our Sandia branch – Charger 505 – for the last year.

Aimee grew up in El Paso, Texas and was a club swimmer with El Paso Aqua Posse.  She was a state qualifier in several events and went on to swim collegiately at UNM where she received her Bachelor of Science in Physical Education.

She taught at Zuni Elementary for two years in their P.E. Department before leaving for the University of Evansville to take a position as Assistant Swim Coach for two years.  Her next stop was in Greely, Colorado as an Assistant Swim Coach for the University of Northern Colorado and Age Group Coach for the Eaton Red Waves Swim Club.  She spent three years in Greely before returning to her alma mater to be an Assistant Swim Coach for the University of New Mexico.  She has extensive experience with running college swim camps and dealing with recruiting for college levels swimmers.

Her wide range of coaching experience lends itself to be a great blend with our program.  Her philosophy is very much in-line with what we have been establishing here at Charger Aquatics over the past 11 years and we feel that she will be a fantastic addition to our coaching staff.

Please stop by and introduce yourself when you have a chance.

Welcome Coach Aimee!!!
