The Terra Nova Tigers traveled to Millbrae for a meet against the Mills Vikings last Friday. The varsity teams suffered their first loses of the season and the JV teams remained undefeated. The Tiger swimmers raced to 57 personal best swims.

The varsity girls earned 78 points to Mills 92. They had 7 personal best times. Cassie Smith, Allison Wong, Sara Olsen and Kaycie Lindland swam to their best time of the season in the 200 yard free relay. Lindland won the 50 free, Olsen the 100 fly and Smith the 100 free. Lisa Luhrs had a great fly, in the 200 medley relay and Chloe Marsh continues to improve in the 200 and 500 yard free.

The varsity boys lost 75 to 92 against the Vikings, who were last year’s league champions but were missing 2 swimmers because of illness. They were led by double winners Johnny Nitenson, who continued his dominance in the 50 and 100 yard freestyles by placing first and Berg Guibadoulline who won both the 200 and 500 yard freestyles. The quartet of Nitenson, Guilbabouline, Patrick Harmon and Luka Goncharov won the 200 free relay in a time of 1:134.81, missing the CCS qualifying time by .42 seconds.

The JV boys were also hit hard by illness but won 86 to 74. Dimi Dimitrov won the 50 fly, Evan Ansgarius placed first in the 100 IM, Preston Woodworth finished first in the 200 free and Chris Luo captured the 50 back. Liam Schaeffer had is best time in the 100 and 200 free.

The JV girls defeated the Vikings 102 to 77 to remain undefeated. Anna Steinberg continues to improve each week and placed first in the 100 free. Helene Kleinfeld had her best times of the season in the 100 IM and 100 yard breaststroke, Claire Schaeffer improved in the 100 free and back and Lia Warnke had a great 50 free.

The Tigers will travel to Half Moon for a meet on Friday with a 3:30 start time.
