Age Group State Wrap Up

 

Two Central Illinois Teams rank in the top 25 at Illinois Swimming Age Group State. The 14 under State Meet hosted over 1300 swimmers and 93 teams. PAWW and Champaign YMCA Heat were the only 2 Central Illinois Teams placing in the top 25. 

 

PAWW had 21 swimmers compete at the meet this past weekend in Pleasant Prairie, WI. We scored a total of 375 total Team points with a 25th place finish with Champaign YMCA Heat Scoring 469.5 and placing 19th. Our girls finished in 11th place with 350 points followed by Bloomington Waves in 23rd and Champaign YMCA Heat in 25th to round out the top 25 in girls. Champaign YMCA Heat and Springfield YMCA placed 16th and 23rd in boys category.

 

Swimmers adding individual points to the Team total placing in the top 20 in their following events:

 

Elizabeth Sowards (104) 200 free - 2nd, 100 fly - 2nd, 100 back - 2nd, 100 free - 2nd, 50 free - 3rd (setting new PAWW records in all 5 events and tying the state meet record in the 50 free before it was broken again in Finals).

 

Bailey Amerman (105) 200 IM - 7th, 50 free - 9th, 500 free - 9th, 100 fly - 5th, 100 free - 11th, 100 IM - 11th, 50 fly - 2nd. (Setting new PAWW record in 50 fly).

 

Landon Boerke (2) 100 fly - 19th

 

Kaia Bridenbaugh (18) 200 IM - 11th, 500 free - 14th

 

Ava Kula (37) 500 free - 4th, 100 free - 14th, 200 free - 11th

 

Josh Noll (9) 400 IM - 15th, 100 free - 18th

 

Isaiah Porritt (11) 100 back - 16th, 50 back - 15th

 

Our relays earned double points and added to the Team total by placing in the top 20:

 

13-14 girls:

 

12th in 800 free relay (18 points) - Kaylee Dexter, Kaia Bridenbaugh, Olivia Kula, Elizabeth Sowards 

 

14th in 400 medley relay (14 points) - Elizabeth, Kaylee, Kaia, Mira Medina Dixon

 

10th in 400 free relay (26 points) - Kaia, Mira, Kaylee, Elizabeth

 

11-12 boys:

 

20th in 400 free relay (2 points) - Isaiah Porritt, Jackson Campbell, Kainan Buley, Lucas Glesne

 

10 under girls:

 

18th in 200 medley relay (6 points) - Kami Jarvill, Sydney Ward,  Bailey Amerman, Ava Kula

 

12th in 200 free relay (18 points) - Ava, Bailey, Kami, Madi Parrott

 

In addition:

 

11-12 boys placed 31st in 400 medley relay - Isaiah,Kainan, Jackson, Lucas

 

10 under boys placed 25th in 200 medley relay-Elijah Porritt, Keagan Boerke, Logan Walliker, Landon Boerke and 28th in 200 free relay-Landon, Ethan Stone, Elijah, Logan

 

Kaia Bridenbaugh - 22nd in 200 free and 51st in 100 free

 

Jackson Campbell - 22nd in 200 fly

 

Kaylee Dexter - 35th in 200 breast, 33rd in 400 IM, 48th in 200 IM, and 35th in 100 breast

 

Reece Helmick - 53rd in 200 breast, and 56th in 100 breast

 

Ava Kula - 24th in 50 free, 27th in 100 fly, and 48th in 50 fly

 

Josh Noll - 25th in 100 fly, 24th 100 back, 21st in 200 fly, 23rd in 200 back, 26th in 500 free

 

Isaiah Porritt - 28th in 100 breast, 47th in 100 fly, 43rd in 200 breast, 27th in 50 breast, 30th in 50 free

 

Logan Walliker - 32nd in 100 fly

 

Next up is the 2018 American Junior Classic and Elite Showcase Classic in Florida. PAWW has 13 qualifiers with 4 swimmers attending.
