Fifty-six top USA Swimming athletes from the Central zone invited to camp

Carmel Swim Club is proud to announce Devon Kitchel, Griffin Hadley and Gus Rothrock are three of the 56 swimmers chosen for the USA Swimming’s Central Zone Select Camp set for May 24-27, 2018 at the University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, OH.

“We are extremely proud to have Devon, Griffin and Gus representing the Carmel Swim Club at the Central Zone Select Camp,” said Head Coach/CEO Chris Plumb. “This honor reflects the hard work they have put into training this year and could be the inspiration they need to catapult their swimming careers and bring them to the next level of swimming they have worked so hard for.”

During the four-day camp, swimmers will participate in five long course workouts and will have the opportunity to learn from professionals about post-race recovery, psychological training skills, nutrition and race strategy.

Devon, Griffin and Gus are three of the 56 top USA Swimming athletes in the Central Zone – 28 male and 28 female – selected for the camp. Swimmers are selected from the SWIMS database of top times during the 2017 qualifying period, where the fastest athlete in each event, ranging from age 12 to 13 for girls and 13 to 14 for boys are invited to the camp.
