.

Dear parents and Swimmers- here is my blog for week ending 3/31/18

GREETINGS SENIOR SQUAD (junior squad) Swimmers and Parents

SPECIAL NOTES (VERY IMPORTANT)

Meet sign ups – As the long course season rapidly approaches – I need everyone to take a serious look at our website and complete ALL meet sign ups – for those of you who are not aware, meets fill up very quickly and all of our team entries need to be prepared and ready to send in early April. All meet signups will be posted on our website shortly – so even if you are planning on being away in April please take care of these sign ups

A full copy of our long course meet schedule is posted on the website – there are several meets in particular that we need to have you sign up for NOW

  1. CAC meet on June 22-24 – this meet is taking place of our usual June travel meet to New Jersey which is cancelled due to the impending late “last day of school” dates. This is a timed finals meet at Wesleyan. Swimmers who are going to make Ct. Seniors their focus meet in order to qualify for YMCA Long course Nationals (Maryland) should attend this meet along with swimmers who will be shaving for Regional championships.
  2. Both of our home meets (May and June) as we need to have a good idea of the size of our meet entry in order to notify outside teams in a timely fashion if they may attend.
  3. The WHAT meet ( trials and finals) 6/29-7/1) – a second option for us in the event we are unable to get into the CAC meet – we will not attend both meets but ALL swimmers need to sign up for BOTH meets – you will only be charged for one meet.

Opportunities to race this summer are limited – we will plan to attend a final meet towards the end of July for all swimmers not heading to Maryland- this serves as a second shave meet – and a reason for all of our swimmers to remain in the water training until the end of the long course season and enjoy the August month on break.

Practice Schedule – Both squads will begin full spring training schedule on Monday April 9th.  Please reference and print out the spring long course training schedule from our website.

The Senior squad will have 3 practices next week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) 4/2- 4/4- and 4/6 – from 5-7:00pm with Coach Eric, as I am away at YMCA Nationals.

Congratulations to Katy Saladin and Taylor Loud for Spring YMCA National qualification- I am looking forward to a great meet with the two of you!!

Hope you find this information helpful and informative.

Thanks, TODD
