April 2, 2018
What/When is the Swim-a-Thon? It is OCST’s only fundraising event, and it involves all of our swimmers coming in on Saturday, April 14th to swim up to 200 laps, or as many as they can in 2 hours. Swimmers solicit pledges from friends, family and local businesses, even doctors and dentists, to sponsor them in their goal to swim 200 laps. All swimmers in squads Novice through Performance are required to participate and raise a minimum of $100. Funds raised benefit all Oregon City Swim Team members by helping support our coaching staff, provide critical funds for the facilities we use, purchase dry land equipment and other equipment we need to practice and compete.
Volunteer opportunities : About 4-6 volunteers will be needed to help with the Donation Letter Writing Day on April 4th, and another 6-10 we be needed to help coordinate and run the Pancake Breakfast on April 14th. Also, on Saturday after the breakfast we will be honoring all those swimmers who earned the “Pie in your Coach’s face” Prize last year, and we’ll need a few parents to organize that.)
