BAC News - Congrats on Regionals!

Congrats to our entire Regional Championship Crew of Sarah Grace Andrews, Ethan Brown, Lexi Carey, Myrka Hardy, Long Huynh, Claire Kaufman, Brennen O'Neil & Sydnee O'Neil!
Two weekends ago they all raced hard and rewrote the Montana Swimming Recordbook as well as BAC Team Recordbook with big swims and time drops from everyone across the board in another monster meet for the Stingrays which also produced the most points out of all of the Montana Teams at Regionals combined.

Brennen O'Neil dropped 15 seconds in the 500 Free and absolutely crushed the 10 & Under MT State Record (previously held by Coach Major Robinson of KATS) and BAC Team Record with a monster (5:41).  He also broke a 24 year old MT State Record in the 200 Free (2:10.3) placing 3rd and qualified for Regionals as an 11 year old. He then picked up medals placing 7th in the 100 IM and 5th in the 100 Free (1:02.9).

Myrka Hardy placed 3rd in the 200 Free (2:10), 5th in 50 Breast (36.7), and 5th in the 100 IM (1:11). She picked up her Regionals cut for an 11 year old in the 200 Free and 50 Breast.  Myrka then broke a 22 year old BAC Team Record in the 200 IM (2:28.5) that was previously held by Bobbi Snider while placing 4th.  Myrka also broke her own MT State Record in the 10 & Under 100 Breast (1:18.2) and dropped 11 huge seconds in the 500 Free and broke the BAC Team Record (5:49) and placing 2nd for the 10 & Under Girls.

Claire Kaufman placed 8th in the 200 Fly (2:19) breaking the BAC Team Record and making her 1st Regionals Finals swim at night.  She then crushed the team record in the 200 Back (2:20.4) which had previously stood for 17 years and also picked up her 13 year olds Regionals cut.  She also placed 5th in the Mile (18:46) dropping 84 seconds, picking up her Senior Zones Cut.  She also went (4:59) in the 400 IM as she broke a 10 year old BAC Record that was previously held by Jenna Marsh.

Sydnee O'Neil WON the Mile (18:23) and crushed the old BAC Team Record by over 27 seconds and is now only 4 seconds off the Senior Sectionals cut as just a 12 year old!

Long Huynh dropped 51 seconds in the Mile (18:22) and he started the race with best times in the 500 and 1000.  Long Huynh dropped 2 seconds in the 200 Back (2:12) at time trials and picked up the Regionals cut in the event.  He also dropped in his 100 & 200 Breastroke going (1:07) & (2:25) as he closes in on Summer Age Group Zones.

Lexi Carey dropped 30 seconds in her Mile breaking the 20 minute barrier (19:44) with best times on the way out in her 500 and 1000.

Ethan Brown swam to a best time in the Mile (20:48) and went out with best times at the 200, 500 and 1000 marks as well.

Sarah Grace Andrews swam in her first ever Regionals meet and placed 8th in the Mile.

Congrats again to all of these swimmers on wrapping up another highly successful short course season for BAC way to go Stingrays!

CA Training Trip a Huge Success
This past week we took 33 of our swimmers to Irvine, CA on a long course training trip full of great training and most importantly team bonding.  From long course training to open water swimming to beach runs and volleyball we had a blast over the week.  Pictures from the week are on our BAC Team Facebook Page (the closed group one).  Special thanks to our 2 chaperones Laura Smith & Jennifer Baretta for all the work they did over the week.
