MONDAY MESSAGE FROM YOUR AQUAHAWG COACHES FOR April 9, 2018
PRACTICE SCHEDULE THIS WEEK: Regular practice Monday – Sunday.
BINGO NIGHT: What an amazing evening! So many of our parents turned out and brought friends to celebrate our team, have fun, and raise money. We seated 205 guests for dinner and Bingo. Metro's Bingo Tavern was a great venue, and this has become our team's most popular fundraising event!
LONG COURSE OPENER: Our first Long Course meet of the season is coming up on Saturday and Sunday, April 21 and 22 at the University of Arkansas HPER pool. This meet is for Hawgs, Junior Hawgs, Wild Hawgs, and Senior Hawgs. Please refer to the Order of Events below to determine which sessions to attend.
Coach Carolyn would like to see all HAWGS swim 50-meter events in the Sunday afternoon session, and 100s on Saturday. Juniors, Wild Hawgs, and Senior Hawgs can attend all three sessions. This is a FAST pool, providing a great opportunity to earn State Meet cuts (BB times) early in the season!
Deadline is TOMORROW, April 10th, so please commit your swimmer and sign up for a volunteer opportunity TODAY!
TEAM BANQUET: Our team banquet will be held Sunday, May 20th, 2-4 p.m., at Metro Appliances. This will be a fun time for all swimmers and parents as we recognize athletes from each practice group for accomplishments this past year. Mark your calendars now and watch for more information!
SUMMER SCHEDULE: The summer practice scheduleis now on the website. Morning practices will be at Springdale Aquatic Center. We will have evening practices at the Jones Center.
FAYETTEVILLE PARKS AND RECREATION FUTURE DEVELOPMENT: The City of Fayetteville is holding a series of meetings over the next month to receive input on the city’s Parks Master Plan. Please consider attending one or more of these meetingsto provide input on a city pool. The only indoor lap pool in the city of Fayetteville is a private club, limiting the learn to swim (safety) and lap swimming (wellness) options for residents of the city. Please attend one or more of the meetings and share your support.
