Three Brantford Aquatic Club swimmers enjoyed successful performances at the Canadian Swimming Championships in Montreal, April 5 to 8. Angela Marina (18) who competed in the multi-class Para Swimmer category won gold in the 200 freestyle, and silver in both the 200 individual medley and 100 butterfly. She also finished 5th in both the 100 backstroke and 100 breaststroke. Angela’s times in the 200 freestyle, 100 backstroke and 200 individual medley were new Canadian Records. Gryadon Dickson (15) also competed in the multi-class category and finished 7th overall in the 100 breaststroke. Graydon had to climb the rankings to qualify for the final and did so by shedding two seconds off his personal best in his preliminary swim. Gabriella Casasanta (13) competed in the 100 butterfly although she finished just a tenth over her personal best she won her heat and improved in her ranking from 42nd at the start of the day to 36th overall.
