VERNON INVITATIONAL:

Congratulations to all seven swimmers who had breakthrough performances at the Vernon Invitational.

Taryn Weatherhead: Made her first Tier 1 time in the 200IM, and broke 2 Club Records in the 50 and 200 Butterfly Events.  Taryn now owns all 3 Butterfly club records

Mateo Ducheck:  Was 6/6 and 100% best times, and swam 200 back and 200 breast for the first time

Annalease Martin: was also 6/6 and 100% best times with her biggest improvement in the 200 breastroke

Casey McDermid: qualified for another 2 Tier times in the 100 Free and 200 fly events for a total of 4 tier 1 times now.

Juliana McDiarmid: went 5/6 best times with her biggest improvement of 10+ seconds coming in the 200 freestyle

Payton Mitchell: racked up a bunch of top 3 finishes in the 200 breastroke, free and IM and 50 back.

Kaila Sands: came down specifically for the 800 freestyle and clocked in with a time of 11:41.87, almost 30 seconds faster than her trial runs in practice.

Way to go crew!

Vernon JAmboree

On Sunday, 5 awesome junior swimmers tested their swimming skills at the VKSC Spring Jamboree.  We were just shy of 100% personal best swims. Kalle Martin had a great performance in the 200 IM, touching the wall sub 4:00 in 3:58.93! Congratulations Kalle!

Cassidy Martin and Tobias Menger also raced the 200IM for the first time and put in solid performances. Tobias had 4 top 6 finishes and represented the junior boys in style.

Morgan Rogalsky topped the podium again this meet and is charging forward to regional meets. Sister Alexa is crushing the 50 Fr with huge time drops every meet.

The highlight of the meet for me as the coach was watching the two sets of sisters race in a relay together for the first time! All in all a great meet. I’m very proud of the progress these young swimmers have made in the second half of the season.

With the sun shining a bit brighter and longer, (and the Leafs and Raptors both in the Playoffs) how can you not love this time of year (unless you're a Canucks fan).

Let's bring it home strong
