Dinos end Westerns day two with five podium finishes

Another absolutely amazing day for the Dino’s on day two of the Western Canadian Championships! As quoted by coach Jared, “the team is very together – so much cheering and a ton of teammate support. It makes for a very strong on deck presence.”

The biggest highlight of the morning was the Dinos taking both first and second place for the 4x200Fr relay. The ‘B’ team (T.McKenzie, G.Norman, K.Song, K.Olthafer) also broke the 13/14 4x200Free Provincial record in a time of 8:42.29. Way to go girls!

The finals session also had some stellar performances with the Dinos ending up on the podium three times this evening!

-Hannah Bennett - gold medal - 100Fr (58.50)

-Laura Albers - bronze medal - 50fly (28.13)

-Hannah Bennett - bronze medal - 400IM (5:01.05)

“Move of the Day”

The move of the day went to Teagan McKenzie who in prelims this morning raced her way from 60th place to 9th in the 50Bk earning her a spot in the ‘B’ final. Teagan then swam under 31 seconds for the first time this season long course. Amazing!

UCSC is in a strong second position at the meet, so keep cheering for your Dinos from the mainland! We have had some amazing performance thus far so anything is possible!

LETS GO DINOS!
