Aloha Aulea Members,
After a month straight of travel meets, we are officially done with short course season. From Senior Sectionals to Age Group Regionals, to the Kauai Classic to the Arizona West Elite Meet, Aulea had over 40 team members competing in 3 different states for travel meets. Thanks to Coach Emma for leading our dozen athletes in Arizona this past weekend. A special congratulations to Alex Lerner and Gabe Canevari from the Gold group who shared the high point honors in the boys 11-12 division. Way to go boys!
The fun doesn’t stop for our club as our first Invitational of the season is upon us already. Aulea will be competing in the Mamizuka Invitational next weekend (April 21-22) at the Manoa District Park. As a reminder on invitationals, here are some of the entry rules:
Swimmers must have at least 1 AA time to participate
Swimmers entered in to the meet may swim up to 2 bonus events
10-under athletes and 11-12 athletes must swim in events for their age group only
To see a list of preliminary entries, please follow this link: https://www.teamunify.com/hiasc/__doc__/manoa%20prelim%20entries.pdf
Entries must be submitted by 6:00 PM on Monday. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Here are the practice updates for the week:
- We will continue to have mornings on T/TH at Le Jardin. Please drop your swimmer off at 5:45 AM (or earlier) as the goal is to be in the water by 5:50 and it takes at least 5 minutes to get lane lines in the pool. We will be finished at 7:00 AM although swimmers that need to get out for school may leave earlier.
- No changes to afternoon practice schedule this week.
Happy Streamlines and Go Aulea!
Quote of the week for swimmers:
