Regional Champs Salmon Arm:
The Regional Champs reminded me of University Swimming -- show up, swim lots of races, then go home that same day. The varsity programs usually set up weekly dual/tri meets vs. 2 or 3 other rival universities. The sessions were short and sweet and the best part was spending the $30.00 athlete per diem on 'food' afterwards.
We usually swam 4-5 races in those days...
Well many of the Regional Swimmers swam 8 races over the course of the day, and two of them had 100% best times: Congratulations to Emma Scholefield and Gavin Rogalsky for their 100% best time meet.
Gavin was also an agonizing .16 of a second off of Tier 1 200 IM time!!
Emma had the biggest improvement of over 40 seconds in the 200 free.
11 out of the 15 swimmers also earned a top 3 medal swim and were proudly wearing their awards on the pool deck.
Next Swim Meets:
Kamloops June 1-3
Tier 1 Provincials June 22-24
Tier 2 Provincials July 6-8
That's all folks!!
