Week at a Glance Newsletter-JUNE 3rd

June 3, 2018

Welcome to the Week at a Glance E-Bulletin that provides your one-stop-spot for all the information you need to know now, some reminders, and where to find the information you need.  Please make sure you are logged on to the website when you review the information-many of the pages are visible only when you are logged in.

TIME TRIALS SIGN-OUTS DUE TODAY
If you will not be participating in  Time Trials on Saturday, June  9th, we need your sign-out by tonight, Sunday, June  3rd. A good rule of thumb to remember is meet sign-outs are due the Sunday before the following Saturday's meet. This gives the Coaches Monday through Thursday to work on meet entries before they are finalized on Thursday night. Instructions on how to sign out of a meet are  HERE on the Parent tab under  Sign out for a Meet. This page also provides instructions on how to sign back in and other scenarios. It's important parents/families fully understand this process.

25 YEAR CUSTOM CAP ORDERS DUE TODAY
As was communicated earlier, we are doing a second run of the custom 25 Year Logo with Name silicone caps. Click  HERE for information on how to order these if you didn't get one the first time around. Orders must be in tonight, Sunday, June  3rd. If you ordered custom caps with the first round, the orders were either mailed to your house, or available at the pool. We have a few remaining to be picked up. Check with a Board member to get yours.

REVISIONS TO PRACTICE SCHEDULE/NEW HOA BREAK POLICY
We previously communicated a new evening practice schedule beginning on June 4th to better balance lane capacity and accommodate some larger age groups. In the meantime, the Wellington HOA has had to implement a new break policy to comply with recommendations under the Fair Housing Act. This shift in break times could further reduce pool time for some of the age groups under the revised schedule. Please be on the lookout for additional communication on this issue over the next 24 hours. We will send out an email and post on the website if we have to shift schedules again to work around the new break times. If swimmers have to get out of the pool during their scheduled swim practice, the Coaches will continue to keep them engaged with on-deck activities. Once we go to our regular Morning/Evening schedules, we should no longer see much impact from this revised policy and appreciate everyone's cooperation in the meantime.

REGISTRATION ENDS ON JUNE 6th
We are currently at 295 swimmers, but we still have room for a few more on the team!  Our families are our best advertisers. If you know of a family that may be interested in swimming with us, send them our way. All pricing and registration information is located   HEREWith Time Trials on June 9th, we are unable to take registrations after June 6th.

PARENT MEETINGS JUNE 6th and 7th
Our annual Parent Meetings are scheduled for  Wednesday, June 6th at 6:15 P.M. and  Thursday, June 7th at 7:15 P.M. YOU DO NOT NEED TO COME TO BOTH. This is the same meeting held at two different times for the convenience of our busy families. We will make introductions to Coaches and Board members who are available, go over some basics, and answer questions. Mini Dolphin parents will have their own Parent meeting scheduled when Minis begin after June 18th.

INCLEMENT WEATHER PROCEDURES REMINDER
Please be aware of our procedures and protocol if we need to cancel or delay practices due to storms. We must follow the guidance of the Lifeguards at the Wellington pool and rely on their judgment for when we have to clear the pool and the pool deck and when we may re-enter the water. In the event of a cancelation or delay, the Coaching staff will first send out a Text message alert. Please be certain you have settings correct in your family account to receive these messages per the directions  HERE on the SMS for Text Alerts page under the Parents tab.

Second, we use Twitter to send a message which automatically posts to Facebook and the home page of our website. You can follow us on Twitter and Facebook, to see these messages without having to check the website. Please do not rely on email messages as we use this as a last level of communication.

MOST IMPORTANTLY-because weather may move quickly it is important that Parents/Families ALWAYS have a plan with their swimmers if they need to leave practice before the scheduled end time. When the pool is closed, we have to clear the deck as quickly as possible. This means kids out in the parking lot-not always the safest place, especially in a deluge with lightning nearby. Coaches will wait with swimmers, but families need to be able to respond quickly.

LAST CHANCE TO REVIEW SWIMMER INFORMATION
We are ordering swimmer T-shirts THIS WEEK. Please go to the Swimmer Rosters page  HERE and look at the most up-to-date list to confirm we have all of the information correct for your swimmers. Your child will receive the size from this list.

POOL ACCESS FOR PRACTICES/TEAM SEATING AREAS
Pool access is through the small gate near the deep end of the pool. If you are a Wellington HOA member family, or a Non-Resident Pool Member (NRPM) family, you must badge in with your electronic pool access card using the scanner at the Lifeguard desk. If you are not an HOA or NRPM family, please stop by the desk and let the Lifeguards on duty know you are there for swim practice. Please use the area directly behind the slide area for parent seating during practices. We need to keep the Pavilion by the lifeguard desk and the seating areas behind the diving board clear for pool patrons. Also please remember that if you are NOT a HOA or NRPM family, your swimmers may not be using the pool/slide/diving board before or after practice.

REMEMBER TO KEEP LINES OF COMMUNICATION OPEN!
Please keep an eye on our website, and watch for and read emails from us. If you have ANY questions, please don't hesitate to send us an email. Someone typically will respond to you right away.
