Hello CVAC Members,

The Codiac Vikings Swim Club is managed by a volunteer Board of Directors comprised primarily of parents of swimmers. Any parent of a club swimmer is welcome to attend the meetings. In June the Club holds an Annual General Meeting. The purpose of the AGM is to give parents an overview of the season, review the finances from the previous year and fill any vacant positions on the Board of Directors for the coming year. Any parent interested in making nominations or volunteering for the Board of Directors should do so prior to the AGM or at the time of the meeting.

The AGM is quickly approaching and we have vacancies on the Board of Directors for the 2018-2019 Season. This is a great way for parents to participate in the wonderful sport of swimming. Attendance at every board meeting is strongly recommended for our Board of Directors. Meetings are scheduled at the same time each month to assist with long term planning.

This year’s AGM will be held on the evening of Friday June 15th from 5:30 PM until 6:30 PM. The location will be at the Riverview High School in room 1029. The agenda for the meeting has been added on top of this page.

Our by-laws allow the club to have between 3-11 Directors on the Board. Currently we have 3 Director positions open to any member. The principle officers of the Club are the President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary. These officers shall be elected to office from among the Directors that are serving on the board at the time of the election. Open executive positions or principle officers will be decided on at a board meeting following the AGM.

We will have a vote by secret ballot during the AGM if we have more than three people presented as potential candidates.
